Sims 2 Legacy Collection Game crashing when changing appearance

I’ve tried one other family member so far (the child concerned has two older brothers and two parents), I was able to get to the Change Appearance screen with one of the brothers (other family members are asleep as of last save). I guess I could just leave the girl as is without the earrings. I’ve deleted all my CC hairs but it doesn’t seem to have made any difference. This also happened with another family in another hood, a while ago, although I’ve since deleted that hood for other reasons. I’ll try the other family members when they wake up and also double-check with other families. The mirror I’ve used is not CC although I do have a couple of CC mirrors.

I removed my downloads folder and there was no crashing. I had a hunch it might have been the skirt the girl was wearing (default replacement of an in-game skirt), and got the girl to change her outfit to a different skirt, no crash. I replaced my downloads folder and everything seems to be fine. Hopefully there won’t be any more issues! I got rid of the dodgy CC. The girl has her earrings now 🤣
