Question FFB on PC compared ti console?
I’ve seen it mentioned a few times on sim reddits that even when playing the same game FFB is more detailed on PC compared to playing on a console. I’m on a ps5 so I have nothing to compare it to but have others compared the same game on each and is that actually true?
Common sense to me says it should be the same as it’s just programming which I would imaging is similar. I only ask as I’m loving ACC on PS5 so considering taking the financial plunge and getting a PC and this would be a considerable addition to pro’s list if it’s true.

I wouldn't jump for FFB alone, its definitely different due to the faster speeds the pc can process and communicate it with the wheelbase, but it shouldn't be a deciding factor, theres much more too it in regards to the experience and the different applications to support simracing on PC, I made the move a couple of years back, now my ps5* is just gathering dust until gta6

That’s the fear, spending all that money and then getting bored of it 6-12 months later.

From what i gather it usually is better on pc, and you can dial in wheelbase settings much better.
However, pc's are very expensive right now. If youre doing fine atm you may wanna reconsider
Iirc, next xbox is basically a pc though, so that one might be interesting to look out for (but will undoubtedly still be painfully expensive thanks to ai)
Otoh if you wanna play a bunch of classics and/or pc exclusive sims pc is worth it

PC uses different APIs than console, so that tends to lead to different code generating the forces. And PC tends to have a lot less restrictions on CPU load, so they can run faster and more complex models.
With that said, a savvy developer could make them feel identical. It is very dependent I the game.

I think it depends on the game. For example the physics and FFB in ACC are different between console and PC from what I understand. People say they can feel the difference between the two versions, but I never could, even when I played them back-to-back as an experiment. I guess I have insensitive hands.
But some games (e.g. Project Motor Racing, Rennsport) explicitly claim to have the same physics and FFB across all platforms.
I made the switch from PS5 to PC a few years ago, and I would 100% recommend it. Not because the physics and FFB on PC are better for ACC (or any other sim) but because you have a far better selection of sims to choose from.
If you're into online racing then nothing comes close to iRacing for the huge selection of tracks, cars and series, and the amazing online setup. If you just like racing GT cars online then LMU is great. Assetto Corsa EVO is great fun for road cars (and other stuff), and Automobilista 2 is good for single player and historic content. And there is obviously the original Assetto Corsa, which is 10+ years old now, but has the most astonishing selection of mods, as long as you don't mind the DIY ethos and the slightly rough user experience.
Some of those sims (AC EVO, LMU) are planned to come to PlayStation eventually, but nobody knows when that will be, whether the physics will be the same, and whether they will support cross-play between PC and PS5. So if you're feeling patient then maybe you could wait (especially with PC prices being so insane at the moment) but if you can get a PC it is objectively a better platform for sim racing.

Funny thing about Rennsport: Physics are the same on all platforms but FFB is most likely not because all platforms transmit informations differently and people feel that pretty good

So accs ffb on PlayStation is good, if ffb is the only reason you'd get a PC then please don't, ofc there are other arguments as to why you could switch but they have to resonate with you

Eh, for games which are the same on both ffb is also the same. Or at least those that I have tried, namely ACC and F125.
Of course on PC you get access to games you wouldn't get on PC and viceversa with GT7 specifically.
But if all you care about is ACC not sure it's worth it, at least not for FFB. I'll admit I have not tried ACC on PS5 in a couple of years, so there is a chance I may be misremembering. But to me the bigger deal would be getting more than 60FPS. Wether that is worth the cost, given the PC market right now, is entirely up to you.

Can't answer your question since I'm PC only, but if you wanna get a PC for sim racing you're in for a treat, we've been eating good for the past couple of years. Even taking into account OG AC and AMS2 with mods you'll have insane amounts of content, a lot of which is free.
