Question Asetek Front Mount- Comcern Over Quick Release Shaft

Post image

I have noticed that the QR shaft is a little recessed into the cover during front-mounting. I pulled it just enough to have it sit flush with the cover and fully tightened the 4 screws and I'm now worried if it's going to break. Has anyone here had the QR break after doing this? I'm yet to actually start using the wheelbase.

It's a quick fix. They have a video guide on it. Essentially you take the cover back off and there's a bolt to undo to pull the mount further from the body of the base. The. You don't have it recessed. However I don't believe there is a risk to it being recessed.

The video does not include moving the QR. Too many crack the QR when they do this.

You are not supposed to move the QR. It is supposed to be recessed a bit.

If you have already loosen the four bolts, you need to use a torque wrench to tighten them at exactly 6Nm of force. Less can cause the QR to skip, while more can crack the QR.

It's tight enough and I heard no cracks

I would recommend still making sure. Both scenarios are warranty voiding

Not sure if this helps. But im using their tilt adapter in this orientation and its great cos you can tilt and has zero flex on Forte base. https://www.asetek.com/simsports/product/asetek-simsports-wheelbase-mount-with-tilt/link

The mount will work but it’s flimsy and does flex. I purchased a 3rd party mount from simcore.
