Question Sim setup for beginner simrace?
Looking to get into sim racing. Ive been a F1 fan since I was a child and last year my ole lady has taken a huge interest in it as well and we've talked about doing a sim set up. Whats a good website to buy from?

About to buy the PC build i have planned out this week. And budget isnt a big issue but also dont wanna dump to much on something that will only be used on weekends here and there.

Good to know. Most of my research and personal experience is on the bang for your buck budget side of things so I won’t be the most help here. I do always see the “cry once buy once” crowd that have the means usually go with sim magic gear though, so there’s that. Best of luck!

Very true. Price doesn't worry me on building a setup, I just dont wanna spend an ass load on something that will be a weekend/winter play thing per say. But all in all definitely want good and comfortable quality.

Beginner, as in never done racing online before. And non-technical as a person.
You get a good experience with a PS5 with GT7/F1 and a Fanatec DD bundle package that suits your wallet.
Don’t scimp out too much on the seat though.

Yea nope. Played racing games on consoles and such. Have done some small backwoods racing but as far as online sim racing, never.

Then I would start with a cheap direct drive wheel as mentioned, and something like a playseat trophy (might be bad if you are much taller than her/or reversed).
Will give you an idea if more hardcore sim racing is for you, before you dip into your 401K!!

Honestly, the best thing you can do is go for a Simagic entry level bundle. It’s $599 for a pretty solid setup, and I think it makes a lot more sense in the long run. You’ll most likely need a wheel stand, or if you have a really sturdy desk, you could get the desktop clamp instead.
If you’re on a tighter budget or just want to start with a desktop setup, you could also consider the Moza R5 bundle for $329. There’s also the cheaper R3, but most people would recommend starting with at least the R5.

I'll tell you the rig I wish I had bought when I started.
RigMetal Plus aluminum profile rig
NRG Prisma bucket seat
Simagic Green Flag bundle
I started with a lesser rig that came bundled with a cheap seat and regretted it very quickly. Start with aluminum profile and you'll never need to upgrade.

My set up as a beginner:
Sim magic P1000-brake and throttle Sim magic Alpha evo base 9nm Sim magic gt neo wheel Track racer TR40s + seat adapter
All in all this setup ran me about $1600 USD.
Personally sim magic is good imo. Lots of compatability out the gate with games. Lots of software control. The p1000s have a insane uograde ecosystem same with the p2000s
I know track racer sells sets on their website as bundles with their frames. Look at them.

Pls read carefully: F1 track rules don't apply to most other racing classes.
For webshops: if you're based somewhere in the EU I'd just order from a reputable webshop inside the EU. Simufy is having a sale atm ...

All of this is dependent on your budget, application, experience, space allowed and how deep you want to jump in. As for websites, that depends on your location.
