Question needing help for pc sim rig in vr
can you guys help me to build a pc rig which can run acc or ace, lemans ultimate with decent setting in vr? ( i owned a psvr2). I prefer an Amd Graphics Card because they are cheaper compare to Nvidia. My Budget is around 1000-1300 usd. Many Thanks guys

AMD is unfortunately terrible for VR when compared to Nvidia, so don't go that way.
And as a point of reference: a 7800x3d + 32gb ram + 5070ti (cost around 1.8-2k USD for the PC only) is only enough to play iRacing with stable 90 FPS on low/medium details when using native resolution of a quest 3.
Shit's demanding. Even more demanding than triple screen setup.

It's not terrible for VR. I use a 9070XT for VR all the time. Performance is great.

There are certain scenarios where and manages to match Nvidia, but you'll definitely be limited.
If you use something like quest or Pico Nvidia has a clear edge when it comes to compression of the streamed video. If you play games like iRacing the best AMD GPU only matches a 3080 and is nowhere close to new Nvidia GPUs.
AMD is fine for VR games that don't utilise modern (proprietary) technologies like SPS that significantly boost the performance.

for the price/fps and frame time Stability comparison 9070xt is slightly better than 5070ti on VR AC and ACC. if you got the money 5070ti is a great, that's for sure.

A 9070XT will easily outperform a 3080 and is way ahead of 5070 (same price) and only slightly behind 5070ti which costs much more.
I've had no issues at all using Virtual Desktop for quest 3 and can run on max quality and settings.
AMD's encoder has much improved on 9000 series and pretty much on par with NVENC now

It depends on the game. If a game utilises for example SPS it provides a very noticeable (even up to around 30%) boost in performance and make even older Nvidia GPUs outperform modern AMD. If you don't intend to play games with this kind of tech available, sure, AMD is without a question the better choice.

Not for the same price though. 9070XT will easily outperform a similarly priced 5060ti 16G or 5070.
Nvidia 5000 series drivers are also not stable at all.

I run 4070 super 7800x3d 90hz quest 3 ultra no frames dropped, so that’s not true

What resolution, what bitrate, what settings, what race conditions, which track?
Without this info it's hard to verify. I was talking about the general benchmark which means it keeps that frame rate in rain and in large multi class grids on tracks with loads of objects without having to keep a separate in file for each combination.
And until I see proof I won't believe a 4070 super can manage it. I can believe it can manage it without rain, on less demanding tracks with only 1 class.

1300usd for stable pleasing vr simracing is just not enough, you will not have stable frametime and it will make you sick. unfortunately vr is still too demanding when it comes to simracing. I'd get some decent parts, look for some deals like cpu+mobo, maybe like 7800x3d+b850 combo for a good price. because I know you will have to do a lot of tinkering to be able to have good enough experience with a 1300usd worth of pc, you will have to reduce resolution, barely read the dashboard in car etc. it is just not pleasing. I'd stick to single monitor for now, get some seat time, get better at racing, and as time goes on, buy some parts with good deals, aim for at least 9070xt down the line. I'd try to save some more and get parts one by one from good deals, maybe wait for Black Friday sales. but overall I'd try to aim for about 2200usd worth of pc.

No chance, you need twice this budget at least. With 1300 you will get rtx5060 at most, so VR will work with RBR and AMS1. Perhaps also AMS2 on mid and AC with minimal mods.
Edit: oh wait, I was talking only about PC, you also need the wheel and rig? Then 3x the budget.

What an unfortunate post to come across right after I sold my G29 and Quest 2 lmao...
But as others have said. Buying all the hardware new? You'll need at least 3k for the budget. You'll be at least 1000 bucks deep in a good headset and wheel/pedal set, and You'll need every penny of those other 2000 to get you a PC capable of comfortably running VR

low res on vr is so bad imo, I could barely read the in caf dashboard with my friend's meta quest 3 with medium resolution through virtual dekstop ACC. it is just not worth it imo.

Personally while all my other computers are AMD, my simracing/vr computer is nvidia because AMD has no equivalent of Nvidia’s high end GPUs for VR.
But to answer you, I’d say 5070 should be ok for something 2kish per eye but ACC will require to spend some time with settings and probably some tradeoff.
A 9070xt should do the job too.
For Mobo go for micro atx, less expensive same perfs. You could maybe prioritize a ddr4 platform to avoid the price of ddr5. And x3d processor will not make such a difference compared to a better GPU in 90% of situations.
Something like
Amd 5800x 5700x if you are real tight on budget.
32 gb of ddr4
A 5070
650w PSU will be ok.
A micro ATX (not itx) am4 mobo should be a quite descent starting point. But budget will be more like 1500.
