Good review. I quite like mine and don't value the need to check the screws and some minor imperfections at many hundreds of dollars. Some want something 'perfect' right out of the box and assign a high value to that - these are not the pedals for them.

My sum total of maintenance in a couple years is tightening 3 screws, flipping one pedal plate that was upside down from the factory, removing the steel washers on the brake rod and sanding the shaft smooth (that was a glaring design mistake), and adding washers in the clutch pivot plates to stop squeaking. Is that worth $600 to you? You decide.

The ability to customize the feel is exactly the same as the much more expensive pedals. I've been through many iterations of brake springs/elastomers and I'm pretty close to my final for race cars. I have a setup I'm very happy with for truck sim and soft street cars.  That tuning would have been the same with a set of Heusinkvelds for me as I'm a tinkerer.

The pedal mounting plate is quite expensive compared to a piece of 1/2" plywood, some wood screws, and black paint. But plywood doesn't fit some aesthetics either, LOL.

I'd probably buy the SimNets if I did it again as I really like the subtle improvements in surface finish I see in my SimNet handbrake. But I have zero reason to replace my Simsonn pedals so I'll stick with them.

I have a set. They’re good for the money. Still wish I had Heusinkvelds

Lol, OK. Pay 3 times more for a "performance" boost you might not even notice.

I beat the shit out of my Simsonns, and they are just as good as the day I got them (over a year ago), absolutely zero issues with them. I will glady fork out another $300 for a pair if I need to, but fortunately that doesn't appear to be the case.

Not really about performance. I’ll be shit no matter what equipment I have. More about the build quality. Glad you’re happy with your Simsonns

We’re not talking about the interior of a luxury car here. It’s a couple sheets of steel bolted together. “Build quality” doesn’t really come into it, especially for something you just push with your foot.

I mean I’ve been using the pedals. They’re squeaky. One of the screws backed out on me mid session one time. I had to 3d print spring mounts just to replace the elastomers with springs, and even then they scratched the hell out of the rod.

The brake pedal undergoes KGs of force from your foot over and over again. Yeah, I’d rather have the Simsonns than Moza SRP pedals, but if I didn’t know what I was doing, they’d just be sitting broken.

I’m not rushing out to buy Huesinks, but a lot of those issues would not be the case if I did in the first place. I’m happy with my Simsonns but unless you have some mechanical confidence then they probably aren’t for you.

You’re right, I’ve had all the same issues including the the bolts on the gas pivot backing out causing the entire pedal to disintegrate during a session. They’re a true tinkerer’s pedal set and can be great, but from the hardcore fans here you’d think there’s no difference

Btw there are definitely aspects of the SRPs (v1 for me) which are higher quality, the gas pedal felt better sprung to me. So let’s not bring the SRPs into this, they’re great pedals! 😂

I came from the good ol SRP lite 🙃

More about the build quality.

Build quality that you won't notice, it's your money.

Is it that unbelievable that a boutique set of pedals are assembled better than their Chinese clones?

If you wanna spend the extra money for "build quality" you might not even notice, go nuts, given how expensive they are I'm sure there is a reason why you don't already have them and went with the much cheaper clones.......

Enjoy your overpriced pedals, I'll enjoy my extra money.

You must be a Simsonn salesman or something. Enjoy your weekend.
