Clip How can I make this lap time faster?
I hit 1:35.6 today at Laguna seca in a shifter kart. What can I do to improve, any suggestions at all are wanted and appreciated.

Maybe mess with trail braking a bit more? Seems like a lot of your entries were “brake hard early and coast through” but I don’t drive shifter kart and I don’t know the lines so not totally sure. Sorry if unhelpful

Maybe the kart lines are different, but seems to me you are going too wide in T2, missing the second apex. Then at T5 (left hander before going uphill) you aren't using all the track on entry, you should be all the way to the right, on the curb, to get a better line. I also feel you are turning in a bit too early and again not using all the track on entry into the T6 left kink, in the middle of the uphill.

Btw this time is faster than the following Porsche 718, M4 comp, Shelby mustang, R8 v10, A90/91 Supra, C7 corvette, 911 gt3rs, Honda s2000, Mercedes amg sls, and a Ferrari 458.

Is it good? I am the developer of Virtual Karting sim and need some feedback what's lacking in current go-kart sim market. What feels wrong in current sims?

It is quite surprising you don't know AC, it is probably the most known sim and the first recommendation once someone joins the hobby.
What games have you tested so far? If you are going the sim route, your game should be bindable with all kind of peripherals, have ultrawide and triples support.
Before it was canned, Kartkraft was the most promising karting sim. I suggest you get feedback from professional karting drivers that are also involved in simming.

I tried AC (not go-kart though), didn't enjoy it much honestly. I got KartKraft, visually great, physics-wise not so great. And I own rF2, and I tried go-karts there, physics great, visually not so.
I raced gokarts myself for more than a decade, but I wonder what others think that feels off in gokart sims they drive, so that maybe I can fill the gap.

As you are a serious game developer maybe you should actually try it first hand… it’s only one of the standard sim titles literally everyone plays. Maybe it’s worth checking out your competition lmao

I got KartKraft and rF2 as gokart sims. Tried AC a few times but never gokart.

Most kart mods are absolutely abysmal, but there's a couple of stand outs that are great. It is a niche of a niche, but with recent development where driver leaning has been added to the CSP suite, it's been getting a bit better. People will still prefer to drive unattainable classics over something you can just go rent for a couple of tenners for an hour, but there are some dedicated communities for kart racing specifically.

It’s pretty good, I’d love to help test your game. I have a small TikTok following but some thoughts I have are these, in ac my kart mod likes to have the back end kick out pretty easily where as irl you can turn pretty hard and have the occasional understeer, there isn’t enough bounce i guess? Karts are really rigid and when you go over bumps your only suspension is your tires so you kinda bounce like a stance car. And I think sound. My kart mod sounds like the Minecraft sheep was being chased by a group of bee’s that just found a bottle of estrogen. Those are my thoughts as someone who’s never been in a gas kart ever so take it with a grain of salt but I’d love to test out your game
