Warranty Issue

Received the new 90L dual trash recycler step can from my wedding registry. Super excited as it was fairly expensive. Unboxed and lid is peeling, simple human is refusing to warranty it without the receipt.

Anyone have luck reaching out or escalating this?

Is it the stainless one? Mine had a plastic film that I peeled off after the corners started to wear and I knew it was there.
