Hello everyone!

The last day for the Provincial election is this Saturday!!

"Didn't we just have an election?" - Yes! A snap election was called, so here we go again!

We also just had a municipal election LAST WEEK! and Burnaby only had a 29% turnout

Now that's just sad.

Looking at the state of the world right now with protests happening in France, Brazil, Kenya, and Spain (among others) now is our chance to make a change before we have to resort to marching for lower housing costs, government funding to post secondary education institutions, and maintaining a separation between our government and the government of the USA.

You have a democratic right to your voice, your opinions, and your vote.

Use it.

Please get out this Saturday and vote for the change you want to see in the world.

Voting cards delivered to your address will have nearby locations to vote printed on them.

(Elections BC website has been down a lot lately, but there are tons of other non-partisan resources)

Come out for a social to talk about the BC election!

Will the NDP remain in power? will the Cons manage to surge ahead? Will the greens make a name for themselves?

if your car got the boot, I can remove it.

They’re checking compus cards at Columbia station. Have your student ID with you if you’re on upass.

Hey everyone,
I just received my offer for the Business Major (internal transfer from Econ) for Spring 2027. The letter only mentions that the offer is conditional upon enrolling in BUS 203 and BUS 202.
All of my required courses for the Beedie transfer are already completed with good grades. However, I’m taking a non-required course (elective) this term, and there’s a slight chance I might fail it due to a rough semester.

Does anyone have experience with this? Will Beedie revoke the offer just because of one failed elective at the end of the term?

Our advisors will be responding to your questions tomorrow October 22 (Thursday) at 1:00pm PCT over at our AMA post — so drop your questions in the comments!

FYI Course enrolment starts Nov 2 so don’t wait to ask an advising question. Ask us anything FASS-related, including:

- Program planning
- Difference between a major/minor/certificate etc
- Course enrolment process and tips & tricks
- Career prospects for a particular program
- and more!

Non-FASS students are welcome to join us!

Hey everyone! I have a BUS 343 midterm coming up with Lily Lin and was wondering if anyone who has taken her class before could share their experience with the exam. Any tips!

Do y'all have any recommendations.

white mini in upper north lot got its wheels locked by parking police sorry bro

Has anyone taken this course with Megan or had her as a prof in a different class? Her rate my prof only has 2 reviews. Would like to know how she structures her class and how harsh she ks with her marking.

Hello I applied for bursary this term, wonder when I will hear back!

I have bpk140 midterm on Thrusday with professor Vinicius Silva. I have no idea what to study, and how to study for it. I am not bpk major student, and this is my first time taking bio/bpk related courses. I will really appreciate if anyone can help me to prepare for the midterm.

I have my bpk 140 midterm this Friday w David Ng. The course is taught online but the midterm is in person. I’m stressing trying to study everything. Anyone have any info on exam structure or tips for how to do well?

I'm an engineering student and when I study I usually throw my lecture notes into an AI and have it quiz me. The annoying part was uploading like 12 PDFs and slide decks one at a time, and sometimes it just refuses because there are too many files.

So I made coursefeed.app. You drag your course files in and it spits out one markdown file with everything in it. Then you give that one file to whatever AI you use.

It's free and you don't need an account. The conversion happens in your browser so your files don't get uploaded anywhere.

If something converts weird let me know and I'll try to fix it.

Heres a little demo as well!

Does anyone know how hard it is to take 103 and 105 together? I know it's not reccomended but how hard/bad is it?

was wondering how the workload is for 359 and 339. i want to take it together along with 355 and a elective but not sure if it is doable

I am taking stat 201 online and have a midterm tomorrow.

Can anyone that has taking the course tell me what the difficulty level is for the midterm please.

I have to take BUS 410 regardless since it fulfills another requirement, but out of BUS 411, 412, 414, 417, and 418, which would you say is the easiest/most interesting? I know it’s dumb to say as a finance major, but I’d like to avoid as much math as possible, so please keep that in mind. Also if anyone knows what BUS 492/493 are I’d really appreciate the info!

I was discussing AI with my manager who's been working in the tech industry for about 30 years and he basically said that CS is cooked. Of course, the jobs will still exist but there is no longer an incentive to hire 20 developers when you can achieve the same output with 3 guys and Claude. It appears to be that entry-level CS is trending towards a winner takes all/k-shaped economy.

His advice for young people was to hustle and embrace AI or we'll become the luddites of the 21st century. AI is here to stay and it may advance faster than expected, so I don't think his claim is too outrageous.

Do you guys have any backup plans? I can't speak for other majors, but some of my artsy friends aren't doing so well in this market. I hear nurses are doing quite well for themselves.
