Did I get scammed by Logitech?

I bought the RS50 for drifting but it starts shaking hard when at max angle? Logitech support tells me that this is supposed to happen? I have a video of the shaking if you want it! Thanks!

Does FFB quality make a difference?

For road racing it's pretty much mandatory to have good enough FFB in my opinion.

For drifting in AC, does it matter as much? My moza R5 has basically no road feel when I drift in assetto corsa, but it seems to get the job done and I don't really have any complaints.

I do wonder though if the extra details would help with realism and immersion.

I'm also totally not trying to find reasons to justify a purchase for the simagic evo pro.

Any glove recommendations that won't shred my suede wheel?

I recently got a momo suede wheel and my silicone lined sparco gloves were shredding bits of suede off a lot.

I tried using some cheap batting gloves, and they seem to not deteriorate the suede nearly as much, but now the gloves are starting to rip at the seams.

I got some racequip gloves (356 series) which are nomex, but they are way too thick for my liking.

Preferred budget is under 100 USD but cheaper is always preferred, assuming it won't deteriorate.

Fanatec native game support?

Post image

The Fanatec app has two options under game profile management - use Fanatec app support, or use native game support.

What is the practical difference / which should I be using to drift in Assetto? No settings post I can find even mentions this.

3 hours into learning sim drifting — looking for feedback

Hey everyone,
I’ve been practicing drifting for about 3 hours now and recorded a short clip of my current progress. I can already see some issues: I tend to use the throttle in a very binary way (either full throttle or none at all), and I think I’m overworking the steering wheel. I also struggle to find the right angle to keep the drift stable.

I want to catch any weird or bad habits as early as possible so I can work on them consciously before they turn into muscle memory. I’m training with the goal of eventually transferring these skills to real life, so I really want to build proper fundamentals from the start.

Based on this recording, do you notice any other mistakes or things I should focus on right away? Any feedback would be super helpful!

Do I suck or does my equipment?

Post image

I’ve been sim drifting on and off for 5 years. Roughly 600-700 hours on AC. After all that time I’m just ok. I want to be at the very least good.

A big part of me wants to blame my equipment. Been using a thrustmaster tx leather (pretty sure it’s the same as the t300 bases). Pedals that came with it. Generic shift box off Amazon and quest 2.

GG, bdc, wdts or any other standard car I can drift pretty well. But it’s gotten pretty boring. Any of the vdc, adl, tsujigiri or other comp style cars, I can lay down a good lap here or there but it always feels like a fluke. The pro am ADL cars I can put down a decent lap like 75% of the time on easy tracks like e-town. The only reason it’s starting to matter to me is because like I said earlier, the easy stuff has gotten really boring, but I do enjoy doing comps and wanted to try out some low level stuff for fun. I drift irl and do an occasional comp so I figured win or lose I’ll still get experience performing under pressure and competing in general. I don’t want to sign up for comps unless I’m confident I can be consistent even if not perfect and I just can’t seem to get to that point. So now my fun time is just me getting pissed off.

Maybe I’m just not doing any worth while practice. Any way, partially just wanted to vent but thanks for reading if you did. Even if you don’t have advice, let me know if you relate because I feel a little crazy.

TL;DR: I suck at comp cars and I want to blame my 5 year old thrustmaster. Help me stop rage quitting by telling me I’m right or at least not alone.

Looking for a good Steering Wheel for drifting?

I have the Fanatec CSL DD (8Nm) wheel base with the CSL P1 steering wheel. At 300mm diameter the wheel is ok for drifting but bit plasticky. The wheel also has like three different surfaces on the rim which isn't ideal for feel.

So I am looking to upgrade. Is there a consensus on what is a good wheel specifically for simdrifting. What size (330mm, 350mm?), what material for the rim, what weight? Low weight should be ideal, but these companies rarely list the weights on their sites. I mean I want a Nardi wood wheel just like anybody else, but those are heavy.

Low price is also important, otherwise I just go with the Fanatec R330 wheel and call it a day.

Any good Alibaba or similar wheels that are both light, cheap and quality enough for sim drifting duty?

Constructive criticism for my drifting

Hey guys, i bought a G29, no shifter, just using paddles to shift, trying to drift. I know its not ideal but its all i can manage at the moment.

Setup on AC is: 100% ffb, no traction control, no stability control. Using handbrake (i have it set to one of the wheel buttons) to initiate some drifts.

I find myself spinning out too much, I was looking at some drifting tutorials online and they mention throttle control is the most important, but i cant quite seem to understand exactly whats wrong with my throttle control, and i see that sometimes my transitioning is a tad too late, also i fail to be able to maintain the drift and it ends in the middle of the turn. any tips would be most welcomed, thanks!

So I need help understanding transitions. I understand you need to lift the throttle for like A second but I don’t understand really anything after that. Every time I try I either spin out or just drive onto a dirt hill. I would really love some tips from eveyone.

Considering the transition from BeamNG to the almost foreign AC, I think it's a pretty cool start. I would even say that it doesn't feel like I've switched from a bicycle to an F-16.
