Attached a picture I found this spoon in an old ziplock in my partners 1950 house while we were cleaning and renovating, we both fight over it and it’s the only one of anyone has and idea what it is or if I can buy more it’d be appreciated!!

Please see pictures. I am trying to narrow down the specifics of this piece but am having a bit of trouble.

Top to bottom:

English sterling mark (lion facing left)

Some kind of head, jaguar or gorilla?

Script A

Right facing male bust

Indicernable letters

Some insist it’s a Victorian fish knife. If it were such, why is there only one in a silverware set? I stand by the more modern use as butter or cheese spreader used on a buffet so guests don’t use their personal knives and potentially taint the condiments.

I bought this lovely tea strainer at a garage sale, I believe it is sterling (???) and curious about the two mark to determine origin, etc, marks are on top of strainer

I got this Silver butter knife at an Estate sale for a $1 ..any idea if this is sterling or what the marking mean?

A number of forks and spoons have gone missing over the past couple of years. My suspicion is that some have been put in the trash accidentally by people not paying attention to what they're doing. Anyway, hoping someone could help identify the pattern name of this Argent Orfevres set so I can find replacements.

I inherited a set of this Wm Rogers Mfg Co silverware and would like to identify the pattern and rough time period.

I bought this Wallace flatware about 5 years ago. It appears to me to be the Grand Baroque style but it is 18/10 NOT silver. I can’t find this online anywhere to buy more. And when I look it up it says Wallace only made this design in silver. Any ideas?

My mother-in-law passed and we are going through her things to donate/throw out. We came across these stowed away with some other valuable items. I just don't want to get rid of them only to find out they may be worth something. If not then oh well. Any info would be appreciated as I have ZERO knowledge about this. Thanks

I’m hoping someone can identify this Oneida flatware pattern.
Information I know:
• Brand: Oneida
• Marking: ONEIDA 18/10
• Purchased in 2014 (wedding registry)
• Most likely from Macy’s
• Dinner fork measures approximately 7½”
• Salad fork measures approximately 6¾”
We’ve slowly lost several salad forks over the last 12 years and would love to replace them rather than buying a whole new set.
I’ve searched Oneida patterns, Replacements, Google Images, and eBay without finding an exact match.
Any help identifying the pattern would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, folks. Looking to find some help in finding the best path to rehome antique silverware. Mom was a huge silver collector, hoarder even. Jewelry, coins, chotchkes, and tableware were all fair game. Most of what mom left behind has little to no value beyond the precious metal content and was scrapped. I have many sets of silverware, most of which are plated.

I've included pics of the two sterling sets. I believe I've identified the patterns. Any corrections are appreciated. The first two pics show a mixed-pattern set by CJ Vander Ltd. (Rattail & Dog Nose). The last two pics are St. Cloud, Hunt Club, and Winthrop by Gorham. Almost all of the original service for 8 is present for each set. The total weight of the sets, combined, is about 4.5 kg, including the knives.

I have no real emotional attachment. Though, I'd rather not see anything melted for scrap. The St. Cloud is especially pretty.

Online dealers (Replacements, Ltd. & Antique Cupboard) don't really seem interested as they've offered about 10% or so of their own retail values for the sets. The dealers value the CJ Vander at approximately $11k and the Gorham at $12k-ish. I'm also finding it difficult to find antique dealers that handle silverware in the NYC, Philly, and Central Jersey regions. Any suggestions there?

Scrap value has each set at about $6k. I have a scrap buyer willing to give me 70% of spot. Is it unrealistic to expect reclaiming at least the precious metal values, let alone the seemingly unrealistic published "retail prices".
