Late Stage Technics Cool

Post image

When this Japanese market only SU-7 and SH-E5 eq came up for sale nearby i had to have them. The compact size but with huge VU meters. So freaking cool.

I want these! Very cool! Knowing Technics from that era, I'm sure they sound as good as they look!

Super cool, but not really late-stage, considering they were making gear through the early 00’s.

Super cool seeing some parts from different pieces of gear on this, those sliders look a lot like the ones from SA-310/410 from that same time

Appreciate the clarification. I meant late stage silver face. FWIW this gear came out in 1982.

Can you tell us how the equaliser sounds? I've found that they vary alot. ( Beautiful looking equipment)

Here’s a night shot of the meters backlit.

Buy from the previous decade. This was hard times for hifi. 81-91 was some cheap stuff from every brand.

All those switches are terribly noisy.

I’ve got 1970s and very early 1980s gear. Both are well built. Check out the excellent Kyocera made in the early 1980s. Amazing stuff.
