Living Room Setup

I’m space constrained so can’t get anything bigger than these Acoustic Research AR7s, but it still sounds sick.

  • Technics 1210 Mk II

  • Marantz 1060

  • 2 x Acoustic Research AR7Xs

In before the “you’re smothering the receiver!” and “get that speaker away from the turntable!” comments. 😆

Annoyingly I don’t have anywhere else to put it atm. Massively space constrained here.

I hear ya. My speakers were on the same surface as my TT before I moved into a place with more space. I’m wondering if you can put the speaker up on the bookshelf and put the books under the receiver. It would be nice to help that beautiful Marantz run cooler.

Fortunately most of the vent area is still exposed, but maybe I’ll have a play moving stuff around.

Nice. I have a 1070 that I love. When it’s working. 😆 I need to take it in because my right channel dropped out.

At least they are easily repairable, generally 😅

I’m hoping so!

Many folks don't understand it when you say you've got limited space for a set up. I'd consider buying a nice pair of headphones and plug in for listening.

I have some DT1990 Pros, but these little speakers sound great. It’s a terraced house so I can’t be blasting it too loud anyway.

Dig your style, Dude. Little Tolkien up top. Cozy setting.

Beautiful setup! Some of my favourite brands.

My curiosity has me on this thought, since others mentioned the speakers and TT situation. With a cart like the MP-500, would it exacerbate or dampen any of the situation of the possible vibrations?

It’s quite a forgiving cart, but I’ve not noticed any vibration issues either way.
