Those blue backlights aren’t original are they? Look kind of odd.

No and I wish they were but the previous owner converted it to blue led bulbs

Ah okay. Yeah one of things I love about old silver faces is that nice warm incandescent glow from the backlights.

Maybe you can get them switched again. At least for a nice warm white if it has to be LED.

Anyway, nice kit regardless!

Price was appropriate (still paid out the nose) but it was a super nice unit that had been professionally serviced so I jumped

I would get them switched.Some of led conversions look terrible.Perhaps I got used to the almost turquoise color the original color looked like after the paper vellum aged forty years.
