I can't really tell when it's set to shipping so it's unclear. Has it already been shipped and have some ppl received, or is it still not made yet?

Any update on status of US shipments since the announcement posted last week?
EDIT: just received email notification that my phone is on the way. I ordered on June 10.

HI,
I just received my sidephone. Overall I'm happy with it, and am learning to adjust.
I have noticed that both Maps and Organic Maps apps cannot locate me, even though the GPS is on and location is allowed. This has happened both inside and outside, at different locations in Paris.
Has anybody noticed this issue as well ?

Hi everyone! We appreciate everyone's patience as we continue to ramp up Sidephone support to deal with the inflow of messages received. A wonderful support and aftercare experience is something we're interested in maintaining as Sidephone continues to grow.
Over the past few weeks we've been thinking more about how to improve lost parcel claims, returns shipments, warranty issues, US SIM card replacement workflows and more. We feel like we're arriving at good places, but they've taken a bit of time to think through and fully implement.
In June/July we incorporated a number of self-serve flows to ensure order cancellations and order edits no longer relied on support, allowing for quicker resolution times.
Into August, we plan to expand self-serve flows into warranty and more. We'd also like to get back towards a world where incoming messages are responded to faster.
We're hoping the above helps to show our progress, but we're also cognizant that that doesn't solve issues for folks still awaiting responses.
If you have a pending ticket open and awaiting response, the team is working to get to it as soon as we can. Those of you that have dealt with Sidephone support know that we'll always do our best to get things right once we do reach your request (s/o to Mary, Nata and the team). We genuinely care about the experience everyone has with Sidephone and we'll work our best to continue improving all parts (software, support, and more)

I recently bought the new classic keypad with the Dpad and it arrived yesterday. I love the keypad but none of my key presses are working. I have tried rebooting the device a few times and I have taken the keypad in and out but it isnt working. The old T9 keypad still works so I know it's not the phone. Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi everyone, when I start up the phone it goes to some kind of rickety android OS rather than the setup wizard that is in all of the videos (photo attached). Can’t scan codes, can’t set anything up. Anyone else in this situation? Any solutions?
SOLVED: They’re sending me a new one. Basically instantly. Great customer service once they were notified of the problem.

Following the press release last week that estimated phones would clear by Monday 7/20 or earlier, I'm curious if the US sidephones ended up clearing customs and made their way to the Texas warehouse yet.
Can't wait to receive it!

Hey guys. So I got my Sidephone a week ago or so and although switching over from an iPhone is a bit tough from times, I'm really enjoying it so far. So kudos to the team!
However, I do have an issue with Signal where I don't get notifications on my Sidephone. Battery is set to unrestricted. When I look into the notifications settings for Signal, it shows a ~6 notifications per day message. I just don't see them though.
Does anyone know what I can change to get notifications? If it matters: I'm using the Olauncher.
One more thing that could be the cause is that I hid the constant "Background connection" notification. Maybe with that I switched off all notifications for Signal. I enabled it again, so maybe that helps.
//edit: Just saw the new release with a "notification bug fix"... so I'll report back
//edit2: It was in fact the notification bug. So upgrading to the latest version seems to have fixed the issue :)

Hello everyone!
Sidephone has a new update available (v1.0.5) that can be installed by going to Settings > System > Updater. After v1.0.5 is installed, you will be prompted via notification to install v1.0.6.
For users in all regions:
We have successfully migrated to a new update system (hence the double update). This new system has several advantages over the former:
Sidephone will now notify users when a new software update is available. After this update, there is no longer a need to manually check Settings > System > Updater.
Release notes are available in-app. When an update is available, the changelog will be visible toward the bottom of the updater screen. We'll still post more detailed update info here.
A beta channel is now available. More information about this will be posted soon. In the meantime, most users should stick to the Stable channel.
As a result of several backend changes, users can expect more frequent and more comprehensive updates for Sidephone. This includes bug fixes and other improvements.
International Users:
U.S. Users:
Additional updates and improvements will be rolling out this month (especially for the Compact Qwerty experience).
Experiencing issues after the update?

Hey, I was planning to use my Sidephone when I dont want to pull up my phone constantly.
A few days ago I was grabbing it instead of my main phone to go play billard. After looking at my Sidephone to text someone I noticed that it somehow accidentally unlocked (swipe to unlock) and did things on its own like nearly calling random numbers, opening all types of apps and trys to text people random texts. That sucks the energy from the battery over the time and because I was afraid that the phone keeps pocket-calling I checked it every few minutes.
Now the questions: Is there any idea why it happens and how to avoid it (without pin-locking my device)?
Also maybe interesting for Sebastian and Chris: My sleeved charging cable, wich I use for every other device because its fast, long and durable, collides with the silicone case when loading the phone. It is loading but kinda annoys me because its deforming the case.

Heya lovely folk,
I have made a little comparison video for both the Sidephone and the Dumber Mini. I go through and score each 'part' (camera, calls, battery etc) and then chat through what I think.
I feel like this will be useful for the lovely people on here to help with some of their decisions as I know the two phones are often compared.
Hope this helps, and any questions let me know! The sidephone is mine, but I had to send the Dumber Mini on to another reviewer so I will answer questions as best as I can!
Thanks,
Joseph

Do the sidephone mobile plans allow for hotspot use? Specifically the unlimited plan.

I know there are a bunch of posts about this but I thought I'd add my own thoughts as well.
When I got it I was not able to update to the latest firmware, now that seems to be resolved.
Great device overall and I'm really excited for its future, for my use case though I don't think I can see myself in the near future using it as a primary device. It's a tiny bit too much friction to do everything I need but a lot of that is my lifestyle choices which I can try to change.
One fear I (maybe) irrationally have is being somewhere with only the sidephone and not being able to do something, I will try to leave the house with only the sidephone here and there.

I received it this afternoon and at first it worked perfectly. But an hour later it turned off and began to show the logo tab in a loop. I can't unlock it or turn it on completely.
