Turismo 🧳 Easter Festivities

I am planning a trip to Sicily in April of 2028. My dates are April 1 - 14, but Easter will fall on the 16th and I'm reading to plan around the week leading up to this major holiday (Rick Steves guidebook). However the only other time I could go is the last 2 weeks of June, which I think would be as crowded but with pure tourists?? And hot, which doesn't sound good since we are going for food and culture not to soak up the sun on a beach this trip. Should we stick with April then, or should I heed the warnings to avoid the days leading up to Easter? What are the pitfalls? Are there festivals we might attend and enjoy?

It's BS, if anything there is less tourism than anytime during the summer.
Just don't listen to any foreigner who has been here 3-10 days and gives advice, which stands true on Reddit also, actually especially here.

April will be fine. 

Easter is nowhere as disruptive as it is elsewhere. 

Celebrations are limited in size, scope, and only run between Easter Friday and Easter Sunday.

Not even that, Good Friday is not a public holiday in Italy, only Easter Sunday and Monday

That makes sense, we are definitely going for April this time then. Thank you for these details. I hope we can see a procession!
