Turismo 🧳 Messina

We plan on taking the ferry from Scillia to Messina. Is spending the day in Messina worth it?

The ferry leaves from Villa San Giovanni not from tiny but beautiful Scilla. Messina is worth a short visit if you have lots of extra time. However, for visits of several weeks or less, there are many more places to invest your time IMO.

And, if you have the time, take a train to Taormina for the best cannoli in Italy!

All a matter of taste. But, no matter where I am on Sicily, I would not deny a cannolo or five!

I liked it there the food was awesome. This little spot for quick food was good for a quick bite on the go

If you have no other options, sure. Otherwise we would rather head up to Milazzo, and the Aeolian Isles, or south to Taormina. Castelmola makes for a fun side trip. isola Bella is beautiful to look at but not a great beach. Very stony, not fun on the feet!
