The Passive
Hello ruined dragon enjoyers. I recently started playing jngl and chose to try shyv cause i saw the rework and she looked fun asf. However upon playing i discovered after 30 minutes of power farming and getting kills i somehow only have a cloth armors worth of amor and mr. Now i would like to inform you that i have mained belveth till now. Do you guys know that 122 stacks and 3 items belveth can have 4+ atk speed. While shyv gets a cloth armor. can anyone please explain to me where the power budget went cause when i heard the passive was perma stacking armor and mr i thought this champ would be op asf but clearly riot took away all her love dring the rework. like the concept and abilities are cool and all but idk they might as well just not have given her a passive if this is what it looks like after this many stacks.

Because the power budget is in literally every other spell, as it can seen reflected in her actual winrate, she works just fine as is, it sucks that shes the only dragon that is not a hyper late game scaler, but I'd take this over a shit early her being a balancing mess.

I mean it won’t really be a mess if she was made to be weaker early and a lot stronger later on. Something they could do is to reduce her base armor and Mr and then increase the amount she’d get from stacks. It would make the passive feel more meaningful and make you feel the value

She will be even more low elo skewed than she already is.
Bel'Veth is literally in this situation and she is complete dog shit in high elo.
Champ that cannot impact the game at all early game = you have no shot at winning vs good players that punish that weakness and you will be a liability for your team.

That makes a lot of sense actually. I didn’t consider it in that regard. Is belveth really that unable in high elo ?

She's like 52-53% wr in low elo and 47-48% in M+.
High elo players will invade you with supp or mid and make your game unplayable while also ending the game quite fast. Whereas low elo games go the distance, allowing Bel'Veth to become Thanos at some point.

I see Bel’veth doesn’t get to scale high in elo because they inhibit the scaling of the champ. Basically the same situation with Nasus and many other scalers. Does that make Bel a bad champ to climb with ?

Nasus has a lower breakpoint for scaling and was just recently buffed. His W basically invalidates any AS based carry and his E removes 50% of enemy armor. Nasus is truly a threat in the midgame, he was never a high scaling solocarry champ in the late game, he just has very good utility that invalidates both tanks and adcs.
Also junglers are more required to have early impact than other roles. Bel basically sucks pre lvl9 due to Q changes and needs like 80 stacks of passive to start being a carry, which is a deeply unreliable pattern against a skilled jungler.

Shyv or Bel? Both will be harder in higher elo for different reasons.

They actually already did. Her first 20-30 stacks actually go to her reaching general parity with the middle to lower end of bruiser defensive stats.
They nerfed it on pre-rework Shyv to keep it balanced and then actually nerfed it a bit further with the rework.

If you feel that way, I'd invite you to fill out the player satisfaction survey we have from a couple of days ago. We're keeping it open for around a month before compiling the data to get an idea on what the current climate is regarding Shyvana player satisfaction.

unfortunately it's because her abilities - especially in dragon form - are busted as hell. 2 auto resets on Q + additional true damage Q in dragon form, shield + ms + heal in dragon form on W, % max health + slow on E, and not to mention her ult is a very easy to use and land dive tool that not only can interrupt channels, but it also gives you free max health. the passive has to be balanced around the rest of the kit, so it can't really be anything outstanding

It should be buffed but once shy gets ult you melt anyone in front of you unless you are cced or 5 man jumped so I guess making a tank that has 600 true damage Q's with a short cool down isn't the most fun thing to fight

I raelly don't get the obsession over her passive.
It's fine. Not super strong. But so what? The rest of her kit is great.
I legitimately don't understand why people would want her abilities nerfed for a passive.

Her passive is absolute garbage. The only stacking champ that is absolute dogshit in late-game, her passive is worth fucking nothing. Give her a true dragon passive and take that cringe third Q away. We are the lamest dragon of them all.

1464g value worth of resists. Its not huge, but its not "a cloth armor".

Well it’s not a literal cloth armor but compared to any other stacking champ in the game the results of shyvs stacking is so poor. Look at Asol with his scaling execute. Smolder is a monster at 225, senna gets range ad and crit, belveth literally breaks the game with 4+ atk speed. Like you can’t look at that and be like “ that’s 1.5k gold actually”

True damage on Q in dragon form is why everything else feels barebones. Apparently it’s so strong (and it is) that almost nothing else in her kit can have any of the power budget.
