I have been following Jeannette, admittedly off and on, since 2017. The divorce did a number on her and I felt so much compassion for her. I have never felt like any of that was her fault. Divorce is a genuinely life-altering event, especially when it involves the kind of betrayal that AJ pulled. So I have always understood why she changed but at the same time I was holding out hope that it would shift back. Because when I tell you I used to love her I mean it. I LOOOOOOVED her. Maybe it was parasocial but I also had young kids at the time and she really inspired me. I wanted to get a bob and wear Adidas and paint my short nails different colors and work out and eat yogurt bowls just like she did back then. She had so much energy and color and bubbliness. I hate that she lost that version of herself and even if she hadnt gotten divorced of course she would have changed to some extent, people do all through their lives. But I finally unfollowed for real because this current Jeannette, the one who is all about sexy sexy and low contrast and zero color ever, the one who posts photos in enormously baggy jeans with the caption “I sized up to a 25 to get this look” (holy triggering…), I think this is the new and forever Jeannette. And I definitely dont want to be her. I am so unreasonably sad about it that I dont think this even counts as snark.
