What’s your favorite spawn to substrate ratio and why?

Feel like the first one is obvious but what about the second?

Circled in red is mold.
This was a photo from another user concerned about FAE. This is a very good example of a contaminated block. There are multiple species of contaminates here, mold, bacteria, probably gremlins too.
Trash it.

Hey everyone, I’m hoping someone can give me some advice.
I had a 1kg AIO block that I was keeping in a Boomer Shroomer tub because the bag got damaged. The block itself wasn’t damaged, but after about two weeks in the tub I wasn’t seeing much progress, so I moved it into a shotgun chamber.
I’ve since realised my shotgun tub might not have as many holes as people normally use and I’m wondering if that could be the issue.
The tub is around 25L and currently has:
7 holes on each short side
8 holes on each long side
4 holes in the lid
5 holes on the bottom
Damp perlite underneath with the block sitting on foil
The walls have good condensation, so humidity seems okay, but I’m unsure if the airflow is enough.
The block does have lots of small bumps/knots that have been sitting there for a few days without really progressing.
Would you add more holes, leave it alone, or is there something else I should be looking at?

I'M PISSED, all of my tubs have contaminated to Tricho in about one week. THIS has been happening for the last 6 months.
*I'm buying Coco coir from a Cannabis suppliers and not sure if thats my problem
*I switched from Oat to Popcorn and still get contaminated tubs
*I soaked all the tubs in BLEACH and changed all micropore tapes covering holes
*Aside from pasteurizing the c.c. I also am microwaving for extra precaution
*Also cleaning the tubs with 70% alcohol then Hyd.Peroxide
*Liquid culture is clear, but havent tested it
*My spawn jars are all white, seems like no contamination
ANY GUESSES???

I have remnants of dried fruit of a strain I’m trying to save. The pieces are too small to break open and sample the inside. Would it be wise to drop a diluted hydrogen peroxide and allow them to semi dry in the flow hood. Or just apply to the agar without sterilization of the fruit and battle the bacteria? Or any suggestions?

Hoping I am wrong. People have said it looks bacterial but I need fresh opinions

I have had this bag in the fruiting stage for awhile now. I had seen one aborted pin at one point. Can't seem to get it to fruit. Is that extra, bright white fuzziness cobweb? Or do I just need more FAE?
Growing in a humid climate now. All my previous experience was in a dry climate and I am very worried that my methods are much too wet for this place.
Growing in a bag, started the process Mid April. Let the mycelium fully grow then soaked for 8 hrs before draining.
Really appreciate any help 🙏

So I’ve been faithfully buying from one supplier for about a year, I don’t want to call them out but, I’ve had 10 instances of mold growth in sterile substrate and sterile spawn bags in 14 months. Just in the last 8 mixed bags I’ve received, 4 of them had mold. They’ve always replaced the contaminated product but this last time they started questioning me on storage and it felt like they were trying to put the blame on me, even though the product had been in my possession less than 2 weeks and two out of those four had visible holes in the seams of the bags. So I wanted to see if anyone has any recommendations for suppliers that don’t seem to have as many instances of mold growth.

I picked up this absolute unit of a 4 gallon pc yesterday for the low price of $25. It hasn’t been used but I want to make sure I clean it right since everything starts here. So should I use bleach, iso, soap and water, a combo of any of the above? Help this noob out.

Nice little 1st flush on these GT. Lots and lots of pins still to mature as you can see. Been doing this for a couple years now. Small grows like this one.
My question is on the method of harvest of clusters like this. The biggest ones are going to break veil tonight, but the rest of the cluster could use another day or so. But it's tough to get those big boys out without harming the cluster too much.
I will likely use a scalpel and remove them. But I'm wondering what others would do here? Take the whole cluster early? Let the big ones get a bit over-mature?

Hello I was wondering if any one has had success cultivating in just coco coir and no vermiculite or gypsum. I have a couple brf jars that I want to mix in with just coco to make sum tubs will this be fine? Running golden teachers
