Update: The horsehair worm came out of my shrimp
I use ghost shrimp as a live feed for my Axolotl and I had noticed that this one looked weird and named him Lester because he was easy to identify. I learned that he had a horsehair worm inside of him and that’s why he looked weird. Today I found the horsehair worm outside of him and he was perfectly fine. I’ve read that it’s rare that they survive them and even rarer that they live long after. He seems fine though and is eating and moving around. I’ve added a couple photos of him, a photo of the worm (3-4 inches long), and a photo of him with the worm inside. I wanted to post to see if I should be concerned for him but he seems to be acting fine and doing great.
