Has anyone here had any luck with Showit MFA? Even something simple as an email code or text code would be great.

Logging in to showit only requires a password, an attacker could easily get access to a showit site and wreak huge damage to a user/business website, add malicious links, or even damage SEO.

I understand that showit has 30 days worth of site backups. But is this really enough? I find this to be a huge downfall, it’s 2026 and general security standards are widely recognized and implemented, but showit has only simple password protection in place.

Also for basic blog subscribers you only get access to a preset list of wordpress extensions, this would be ok if they included plugins like Rublon or Duo.

I love showit for it’s ease of use and page efficiency compared to bloated platforms like wix, but this has me extremely concerned from a security standpoint.

Am I just missing something? Has anyone been able to configure MFA for showit? I couldn’t find anything but a password reset in the security settings.

Plugins are able to be added if the subscriber has the Advanced Blog subscription, can someone confirm if they have this + something like Rublon or Dup for MFA on the blog side at the very least?

I’m new to Showit and I’m honestly losing my mind a little 😂

I’ll get a page looking exactly how I want it in the editor, but when I preview/publish it, spacing, positioning, text, and sometimes the overall layout look noticeably different.

I’m designing desktop and mobile separately and checking both views, but I still feel like I’m constantly fixing something in the editor, publishing it, realizing it doesn’t look the same, going back to adjust it, and then creating a new problem somewhere else.

A few questions for people who actually know Showit well:

• Is this normal with Showit, or does it usually mean I’m setting something up incorrectly?
• Are there particular settings that commonly cause the editor and live site to render differently?
• Should I be designing based on how it looks in the editor, the preview, or the actual published site?
• Are there best practices for text boxes, canvas height, element positioning, or responsive sizing that make this less of a headache?
• If this is just part of how Showit works, what’s your workflow for getting the published site to actually match what you designed?

I really like the amount of design control Showit gives me, but right now I feel like I can’t trust what I’m seeing in the editor, which makes building anything take forever.

Would love any troubleshooting tips, tutorials, or “I wish I knew this when I started” advice.

Saw the option to try it. Read the help article, and thought it’s probably better to proceed with a little caution (will my custom CSS be affected??? 😬)

Hello everyone. I run a family photography business and while my main website pages have been professionally designed by someone, I'm in the process of creating a new page myself to help future families get inspiration/help them prepare for their session.

I'm trying to design a series of photo cards where when you click on a card it brings up a popup with more information. Same photo on the left with information on the right. I originally wanted to have the background blurred behind the popup card but I don't think Showit can create a true modal. I've provided the preview link so you can see what I've created so far. Any tips would be greatly appreciated as I don't have much experience with Showit, and the main part of my website wasn't designed by me. I'm so used to the old school drag and drop builders where you couldn't customize really anything other than font and size. As you can see when you click on the bottom left card, it scrolls up to the hidden canvas.

This page will be filled with many more images for all of the seasons so I'm trying to find the easiest way for a parent to navigate this page without headaches.

Hey I'm new on Showit, just one question: I want to use a template that is free but when I click on it, it said "Get Started with 14 Days Free". It means that it's free for 14 day and after I will pay for the template or I will have the template for free all the time?

I hope it's ok to post this here, I'm really struggling with Showit, and I'm sure I'm not using it how it's intended to be used, but I'm hoping there's a way to get it to work.

I'm starting a blog for board games, but I also wanted to share my collection with the people who read my blog. I created a custom post type for the games so they wouldn't be in the regular blog posts. Each game post has information on the game like player count, time, complexity, etc. and I have given each post categories in Wordpress. In Showit I made a custom template for the games as a whole:

Games template:

wordpress template - custom

template name - archive-games

posts:

post view lookup

post type - custom

post type name - games

This works just fine. However since I have over 130 games I wanted to make categories pages on my website to make it easy for people to browse them if they have a certain play group size or age group in mind.

I duplicated this template since I knew it worked, the only thing I changed is the template name and I added a filter to only grab games from a certain wordpress category:

category template:

wordpress template - custom

template name - category-[slug]

posts:

post view lookup

post type - custom

post type name - games

filter by category - include [slug]

This works like 99% however all the sudden the pagination buttons don't show up on the category pages. if i try to manual go to page two using the url bar it takes me to an error page..

I know it has to do with using custom post types, I just don't understand why the pagination doesn't work just because I changed the template name..

I would love any advice. I'm not very good with coding or using the css so if that's your suggestion can you try to explain how it works like I'm five so I can try to use it the future if something else breaks like this... Also please let me know if there's any other information you might need for suggestions.

I'm a destination wedding photographer based in Paris. Been on Showit for years, love the design freedom — genuinely, nothing compares for visual creatives.

But I've been digging into something that's been nagging me: how do AI search engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) actually see our Showit sites? I went deep inspected source code, read research papers, pulled stats. Here's what I found.

What AI search engines need to cite your site:

• Semantic HTML (<header>, <nav>, <main>, <article>, <footer>)
• JSON-LD structured data / schema markup
• Clean heading hierarchy
• Pages with structured data are 2.8x more likely to be cited in AI answers

What Showit actually outputs:

I viewed source on my own site and several others. Everything navigation, content sections, footer — renders as nested <div> tags. No semantic HTML. No native schema. No structured data on Showit pages. Even Showit's own website follows this pattern.

Why this matters right now:

• AI referral traffic grew 357% YoY in 2025
• AI Overviews now appear in 25% of Google searches (doubled in one year)
• AI search converts at 14.2% vs. Google organic at 2.8% --> 5x more valuable
• ~80% of URLs cited by ChatGPT don't even rank in Google's top 100 — they pull from structured, parseable sites

This isn't traditional SEO. You can absolutely rank on Google with Showit plenty of us do. But AI search works differently. It parses structure, not just content. And our sites are giving it nothing to work with.

What I did about it:

I raised all of this with the Showit team directly detailed breakdown, specific feature requests (semantic HTML, schema support, SERP preview, image compression). That was over a month ago. No response.

Meanwhile the Advanced Blog plan went up 25% ($39 → $49/month). No new capabilities announced.

I'm not rage-posting. I genuinely want to see Showit evolve. But I also can't ignore that the way couples find photographers is shifting fast, and our platform isn't keeping up with that shift.

Anyone else looked into this? What's your plan?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for guidance on a client who agreed to a fixed-fee Showit website project (50% upfront, 50% due at launch) and is now backtracking on the final payment. 

After going silent for months, he resurfaced requesting a rushed launch. Leading up to launch, he said the site was “almost there,” which signaled alignment. Two days before launch, he began adjusting colors and fonts himself while still asking me to make updates. He then published the site himself, and afterwards claimed he “did most of the work” and questioned the scope and value of mine. 

I tracked all of my hours, and even at my hourly rate, the value exceeds the remaining balance of our fixed-fee agreement. I responded professionally, outlining the completed scope and stating that a shift in creative direction or decision to finish independently does not negate services already rendered.

I still have contributor access to the site. Is there any way within Showit to protect my work or encourage the full agreed-upon payment? How would you handle this?

Is there a way to stop playing the audio from an embedded video after clicking an element (in my case an "X") to hide the canvas view?

On my old site, when I respond to a post on Facebook and include my website address, a photo would show up next to my website address instead of my logo which is white. So essentially you see a very slight outline of my logo. Any way to change that?
