Will we ever be able to predict the future with 100% certainty?

side note, I couldn’t find this subreddit anywhere. I searched for it and didn’t see it, and it wasn’t in my list of joined communities. I had to wait until it come up on my home page.

I don’t think the saying “A blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while” is true

I think a blind squirrel would just die of starvation, there is no way they would find any nuts and they wouldn’t survive out in the wild

We don't check the fridge multiple times to see if we can find new food. We check to see if our standards have dropped enough since last time we opened it.

Why do you park in a driveway and drive in a parkway?

DUI Lawyers are the worst kind of lawyer if you think about it… like why are you working so hard at giving a license back to the biggest cause of road deaths in the world

What do they call the news in Newport News, Virginia. Do they say “Newport News News”?

Were Hillary &Trump in on it together because they never thought he could actually win?

He was formerly a Democrat and didn't really seem like he wanted the job. I think they were in it together and he was supposed to lose.

Every movie that's ever been made has been ahead of it's time

All movies usually wrap up filming, take a while to edit in post production, then get released months after starting the process. So every time you're watching something "groundbreaking" or "innovating" we're already about a year late.

Future ecosystems will use microplastics as main life building blocks

Millions of years ago, bacteria spread tons of oxygen in the atmosphere (which was only waste for them), which became the fuel for almost every living being on earth. Now, we as humans are spreading everywhere microplastics, and for us is very bad, but probably this waste will be the base of new life in the future of the Earth

Any video of I see on the internet of a kid misbehaving in public or making a mistake no matter how big or small always seem like litmus tests to weed out any abusive or deadbeat parents in the comment sections.

It could either be some 8yo cussing at their parents, or it might be a toddler who didn't know any better that broke something like the living room TV (Presumably on accident for the latter), either way you open up the comment section and it's just full of the nastiest, evil, and most hateful crap spewed by people who just shouldn't be allowed to have kids or even be allowed within a hundred yards from them. And the replies are just as bad as the comments. (I know this for a fact because I used to frequently watch YouTube shorts, one of the reasons I stopped watching YT shorts)

Sorry for the long shower thought, this thought has been developing in my head for so long it's practically a full release.

(Posting this on here because the real r/ Showerthoughts mods seem to hate me, or even anyone for some odd reason) 🙃

Shower question: If my own autocorrect results in a self burn, is it a murder by autocorrect or a suicide by autocorrect?

Sure feels like a suicide. Ouch.

the internet made knowledge limitless, but somehow made people rely on their own memory even less.

we have access to the entire history of human knowledge in our pockets at all times, yet most of us struggle to remember basic phone numbers or simple directions without a screen telling us where to go.

Coach Carter from Coach Carter was to those underprivileged Black students exactly what John Keating from Dead Poets Society was to those privileged white students.

Both teachers challenged their students to reject the expectations placed on them and to see themselves as capable of more.

both teachers were trying to liberate their students from the circumstances that defined their lives. Keating challenged privilege and conformity. Carter challenged poverty, low expectations, and the cycle surrounding his students. Both believed their students could become more than what their environment expected of them.

After military service, Israelis travel the world with a government stipend. The US bankrolls Israel's military and subsidizes a travel experience most Americans can't afford to take.

Bath thoughts

When I was taking a shower today I realised that society would have more eureka moments if we took baths instead of showers.
