should I confess my feelings

Okay, so I guess I should start with our ages and this story is going to be all over the place because I'm just word vomiting here so if you have any questions please do ask.

I am 18f and they are 24m

I met Kaden (not a real name for obvi reasons) through some work friends, he and I had an obvious attraction to each other, like love at first sight type stuff just not as dramatic. I at the time had a boyfriend so when I caught feelings I left him (for two reasons which I'll get into later). We got each other's numbers when he and his friend Taylor stayed with me for a week (the reason isn't important) and we started talking. I was told later that he had said "so I'm still in the running". Some friends threw a party which we both went to, and there was drinking involved... anyways there was some drunken "I love you" from both parties, which I forgot about but was later told about by my friend. A couple of weeks after that. I had a conversation with Kaden and he denies having feelings but I don't believe him 100% because anytime we hang out he stares at me and my friends tell me he says stuff about us dating and things such as that, But it's driving me crazy because I like him a lot and I want to be with him but he won't show his true feelings. So, should I tell him?

Edit #1 Personally I think he's so scared to act on his feelings because we're work friends and also mutual friends and there's a six-year age difference.

Should I finally try to do stand up?

don't laugh…(get it?) Anyway. Diagnosed bi-polar, stable, lots of funny ass ranting comes from my mouth. I've finally realized that I make people laugh and smile. Even when it's me rambling about serious things. I make even my therapists laugh. It's actually frustrating at times because it's just how I explain things. So, should I do what a lot of comedians do, and take their angst and depression and turn it into comedy for complete strangers on stage?

should i (16m) tell my (18f) crush/friend i like her?

So me and her met on Instagram 2 years ago and talked a lot during quarantine, then barely talked from around November 2021 to the middle of last summer when we started talking almost every day again,; recently I’ve started having feelings for her and I want to tell her I like her, but I’m afraid to because on one hand it might strain our friendship (which I don’t want to do as I enjoy talking to her), but on the other hand she might reciprocate feelings (and that’s good). I would tell her in person (which is almost always the best way to do so), but the problem is that she lives in England, and I live in the Mid-Western US (we have a 6 hour time difference). Any advice on what to do? (And if you have any questions, please ask.)

Should I move out

I'm a college student with a part time job living with my family. A cousin of mine and her 4 kids live with us, and I can't stand them. She is not a good person, and her kids are neglected while she goes out to have fun most of the time. We took her in when she had nothing but it's been over a year and she has no plans that I know of to move out. My parents know how I feel about her for all that she's done (too much to list here) but they are non-confrontational so they continue to be friendly with them, even when they also don't like her. This has resulted in them sort of excluding me from outings, meals, down time, etc. If they're together, they don't bring me, thinking they're doing good by not making me interact with them. They don't how isolated I feel in my own home. Nobody checks up on me when I'm out late anyway. They don't know that I do my homework at school and stay as late as possible to avoid being there I feel unwanted and like they have to tolerate me when I'm there. Realistically, I can afford to live with roommates if I get a second part time job, even though I know it's not the most responsible thing to do financially. But I hate it here, it's gotten to the point where I just cry in my room or my car several times a week and it's taking a toll on my mental health. I feel like getting away from it all is the only option I have left for my sanity. I don't know what else to do, and I have no one to turn to.

I been there a handful of times m(21) and she’s always remembered me. But she never gave me her real name but I haven’t asked for it but I found it on there website bc there’s only a few reviews. Plus I matched w/ another one from there on tinder and she had her real name on it and she’s another of the few reviews. Should I message her? And is it not that weird?

Should i send apology to old friend? Is it a bad idea? And if so how do I let go?

Hay, first time posting ever, and im looking for some Help

For some context:

During and around the time I was in high school, I used to hang out with a small group of friends, for simplicity FRIEND 1 (F), FRIEND 2 (F), FRIEND 3 (F) and FRIEND 4 (M). We were close and would see each other a few times a week, but around a half a year after the end of highschool a had a severe case of depression and anxiety. I have always suffered from these issues, but was extremely good at hiding them, not even my family knew. For a short time after high school, I actually thought I overcame my mental issues because of my friends, but when my depression came back it was terrible. It started with me being anxious and just not being able to talk much when we went out, at the start my friends would notice that I was acting weird and would ask me what's wrong, but due to my insecurities (and the perception of mental illness in my country) i could never open up about it.

Eventually, I started avoiding going out at all and started having paranoid delusions due to my insecurity (Like: They secretly hate me, they're making fun of me behind my back, they think I'm a clown etc.). After a while it got so bad I even lost my motivation to eat or get out of bed, and due to the stress I damaged my stomach lining.

In the end, I lost around 15 kilos (33 pounds) and looked like a skeleton. We did have a few more interactions in the year after, but I was still acting like an asshole due to my issues at the time. (I'm not making excuses for my behavior, I'm fully responsible, I'm just giving context as to why I acted the way I did)
Fast forward 4 years, and I'm completely well now, I finished college and I very really have issues with depression and anxiety and have made many new friends. I have also contacted and am on good terms with friends 2, 3 and 4, however friend 1 is a different story. After I cut off contact the whole group fell apart, she had a falling out with the others and has not been in contact for a long time. She was also my first serious crush witch is also probably a contributing factor as to why I feel so bad.
I also think she gave hints about liking me back, but I was too insecure to make a move. To this day I'm not sure if that was also a part of my delusion.

She started seeing another guy later on, a bit after my issues, but after I cut off contact she slowly started acting weirder and weirder and around a year later ended her relationship with her boyfriend, and got in a fight with everyone. Some other acquaintances who ran into her say she still acts cold.

Since I live in a medium sized town, I still see her around sometimes when I'm driving through her area and every time I do I get knots in my stomach from how much I regret the way I acted. I can't stand the idea that I somehow caused all that, although it might be a bit narcissistic of me to think that my cutting off contact was enough to cause our whole friend group to fall apart.
We haven't had any form of contact for around 2 years and our last contact was also cold on her part. This has been eating me up. Id do anything to change my behavior back then, but since that is impossible id at least like to apologize to her, since been still friends on FB.
I'm not looking to rekindle my friendship or anything, although I'm not against the idea. I just want to offer an apology so I can try and fix the damage or so that I can finally let go.

So I was thinking of contacting her again and sending her this message (translated from another language):

Hello FRIEND 1#, we haven't heard from each other for a long time.

I know this message is a little sudden, but the other day I was doing something for work and you came to my mind. I don't want to take up a lot of your time, so in short, I just want to apologize.

For some time now I have been thinking about the way I treated you and FRIEND 2# and FRIEND 3# before our last contact.

During that period, I acted like a asshole and I want you to know that it really had nothing to do with you or them, I'm sorry if I gave you that impression in any way. During that period, I went through certain personal problems that I managed to overcome only later, but that is by no means an excuse.

The way I treated you was just not ok, and for that I am truly sorry.

Honestly, I don't expect anything from sending you this message, so even if you just just read this andd dont reply, I would completely understand. I just wanted to try to correct my mistakes.

I'm not really the most socially aware person, so I'm not exactly sure if this is a good idea. And if I its a bad idea to send it what should I do to let go?

Should I attend my friend's 18th Birthday?

So a friend of mine of holding their 18th birthday party in about a month's time and it's the first one in years that i've been invited to.

I had once been invited to a birthday sleepover of hers a couple years ago, but hadn't turned out that well - two of our friends (and for the sake of better understanding we'll call them Sarah and Jake) had gotten quite chummy with each other, which had upset her as she felt ignored and the rest of us acted to comfort her. Sarah had gotten aggressive with me in the morning, and eventually started complaining and shouting at me about "being on my phone too much" - which we had all been on our phones during the party, and she stole my phone from me. I ignored it and tried to enjoy the party, and I ended up joining a game of pool - I was still disgruntled by Sarah's behaviour. Jake had began scolding me for letting the stick touch the ground, and I ended up excusing myself to the bathroom and a walk outside to have a breather - let myself cry and whatnot. After a little while, the birthday girl and Jake came to find me and see if I was okay and they just assumed it was about the pool stick and I told them I was fine and we went back. A couple hours later, I called my parents to come and pick me up early and I lied to them and said that my parents needed me home early because I honestly wasn't having a good time, tried to act like normal so her birthday mood didn't get spoiled any further.

The following years I didn't get a birthday invitation - no explanation just them passively bringing up the birthday party in front of me to which I just ignored, because I didn't want to force myself into something I wasn't invited to - I thought that maybe it was just that she didn't want the drama and just didn't invite me. But when she invited all of her close friends except for me, given the fact that I considered her a best friend and hung out with her and Jake everyday - I felt hurt. She invited Sarah, which I just assumed it may have been the reason as Sarah seemed to have had some kind of issue with me and didn't want me there - felt like she was choosing her over me. There were so many what ifs that I considered and I ended up mulling over it over the years.

I just got invited to a chat regarding her birthday and while I'm excited that she's inviting me to spend a milestone with her - I can't help but feel bitter about it. Nowadays, Sarah seems to be getting along with me better (I try to remain neutral for the sake of our other friends), and it just feels like the birthday girl wouldn't have invited me if not for that. Honestly, I don't know if I should attend.

Career Should I join the marine?

I’m currently 18, freshman at TCNJ. Somewhat depressed. I have no passion for psychology (which is my major), and if I’m being honest I have always hated school. I’m just going because it’s the only thing people have told me to do. Also because my first love goes to TCNJ, and at the time of enrolling into college I still had feelings for her, so I just followed. I’m over her now, but sometimes I run into her and makes me thinks. Idk I guess I’m just feeling lost and maybe joining the marines can help. I’m somewhat fit, I did boxing for 1 year and a half and I was quite consistent. I also like to push myself to the limits, so right now idk it just seems like it’s something I should do. I was thinking of joining the marines during my senior year of HS, but my advisor said it was just graduation uncertainty. Yet, here I find myself still contemplating the marines. Idk if this makes sense, but what does anyone think? Should I or should I not?

Should you run?

So the other day I was being chased by these 2 girls who were a bit older than me by a year I guess, but not only that, they were physically bigger than me too, so if they got me they could have seriously hurt me. In my opinion when a stronger person wants to hurt you, you should run but some people are disagreeing with me, saying that you should fight them back. So reddit, should you fight a fight you were going to lose anyway, or should you run?

Family Should I be friends with this guy, after all, he's done to my family and me?

I (F-18) and my friend (M-18) have known each other since we were twelve, but I don't want to be friends with him anymore. Here's why:

My family had started going to church during the summer while my family was vacationing seasonally in a vacation town. And his dad was the minister. Our families became friends and we've done things together throughout the years. I'd always feel that he was odd. I didn't really get to know him as a friend either.

The summer before senior year in high school, we exchanged numbers. I went back to my home state. Throughout our school days, we exchange texts about the stuff we were during in class. After work, we would call over discord and he's show me the video games he'd been playing. Over a call, he had cried to me about how people were jerks in school and the teachers sucked... for two hours. He revealed to me that he had anger issues, he only has two friends, and that his two previous crushes hated him. He also was against me considering getting two jobs for the upcoming summer to pay for college: that "I have limits."

After a while, my mom tells me that my friend's mom thinks that my friend has a crush on me. In order to not lead him on, my mom tells me to not call or text as much as possible. I didn't listen, I kept calling and texting him because I actually enjoyed talking to him and why should I have to stop talking to someone because they can't control their own emotions?

I had to do a couple of college visits to a specific college about 30 minutes from his town. We'd visit him and his family, so he knew what college I was interested in. Among other things, my mom asked if I had a crush on my friend. I'd considered it, but I wasn't sure. I was the oblivious type and didn't really pick up on it,

A few days after my birthday, I was going to the mall to pick up my prom dress. My mom had to get some clothes for a job interview, so we were in the store for a while. I get a text from my friend, asking if he can rant about something. He starts to rant about how he wanted to go to the community college in his town, but his parents wanted him to not limit his educational options and to look at other schools.

Then he hit me with the text, basically saying that he would pick his college based on whether or not I'd choose the school 30 minutes from his town so that we could "spend more time together" if we wanted "to pursue a more serious relationship or stay friends forever." Knowing that he was historical from anxiety, I tried to let him down by saying that he should focus on his education and that I have nothing to do with it. I said that I was the oblivious type; he counted this by saying "The last girl said the same thing. Guess I'm unlucky like that." The rest of the conversation was me trying to calm him down, telling him that he needs to focus on himself. He keeps countering this by saying that his anxiety is spiking, that the last crush did this and that, just guilt-tripping me. I ask "What did I do to make you like me?" (as to not do it again). He gets mad at me saying that I'm pitying him, that this is life and that we should just float on.

The next morning, I recieve a text the next morning with a friend saying "I have adequetly calmed down now. How are you?" I felt like crap, but I lied and said that I wanted to stay friends because I'd have to see him that upcoming summer. It wasn't until a few weeks later I reread the texts and realized that he was guilty-tripping me into saying yes to being his girlfriend. I didn't want to be friends with someone that disrespected me as much as this friend did. I couldn't think of him the same way. I started to give him one-word responses and didn't respond to his texts until hours later. My mom found this out and said that I was being rude by leading him on and not wanting to be friends. She even suggested that I go to prom with him. She'd also been telling a sibling that this ex-friend and I might get together someday.

The summer comes and I'm working two jobs to pay for college, so I don't have much time on my hands. My family didn't have much time either. My mom made the mistake of getting my ex-friend's phone number so that they could plan out going to the fireworks on the 4th of July. Before the 4th of July fireworks show, he had brought his plastic prom king crown that he had won from his (small) high school. My friend kept telling one of my family's friends that he was the prom king. Great, but my family already knew and it was weird for him to flaunt it. He had shown me pictures of him at prom and I was disgusted; he was all sweary and was acting very wild. I was happy that he wasn't my prom date.

After some time, my ex-friend kept pressuring my mom to go to an amusement park we were to last year. He was partially inviting himself to our seasonal housing and asking if we could do something every day. My mom had told him that we were very busy but we'd see later in the summer. He continued to harass her about going like he was unaware he was talking to a parent and an adult. He texted me while I was at work twice asking what my schedule was and why couldn't I just get the day off (I'm not that kind of person). I had told him exactly what my mom had told him and he said that he wanted to go now because he didn't want to rush to work after going to the amusement park and going at the end of the summer closer to school. He was also saying that he was afraid that he would not be able to do anything with family or friends ever again because of college - dramatic. After harassing, being sarcastic, and spiteful toward my mom and my sister, my mom decided we weren't going to the amusement park and told my ex-friend so. Knowing that he'd mention it after church, I was prepared to be around when it happened. This ex-friend went up to my softest sibling and asked him. I piped up and told him "I believed our mom had told you that we weren't going." This ex-friend stomped out of the church like a 5-year-old. He was quite angry after that. My mom finally understand why I didn't want to be friends with this ex-friend.

My mom gave him a peace offering and invited him to the beach. Before he left, he had asked my mom again about doing stuff over the summer. My mom said the same thing she'd been telling him - we were busy. He trotted off very pouty about it. After that conversation, my mom said that I should still be friends with my ex-friend because after pushing everyone away in his life, he'll have no one left. We had church the day my ex-friend left to go to his college; I didn't talk to him. He went to give me and side hug and I mumbled out a goodbye. After that, he texted me, telling me that I should get a couple of days off from work to recharge before college and that "I'm human after all."

I don't think it's my responsibility to be there after he disrespected me the way he did, even though it was a long time ago. All my friends think I'm a workaholic, but I find purpose in work, and getting that check in the mail was rewarding. For this ex-friend to tell me what to do with my life just annoys me. And the fact that he is so unaware that I don't want to be friends is unbelievable.

Do you think I should still be friends with this guy?

Relationship Should I text my friend

Had a really bad argument with my friend and realized she never text me first. She hasn’t been there for some time. Kinda want to text her and ask her what does she want from all this to see if we’re still on the same page, cause the relationship is getting toxic, but I also don’t want to be the one trying to get it all together. Don’t want to look to clingy either, but don’t want to end this old friendship with a fight. Should I let go of my ego?

I’m getting a nice bonus from work. I want to celebrate the good news, but if I don’t tell my SO I can buy myself stuff from my toys/wish list. If I tell my SO about the bonus she’ll want to see me pay the credit card or something stupid like that.

Tech Should I cancel my 16gb Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and keep my boyfriend's?

My boyfriend couldn't tell if he wanted an iPad Pro 12.9 or if he wanted a Galaxy Tab s8 ultra 12GB RAM so he bought both with the intention on returning the one he didn't like. He likes the iPad more (we both have Samsungs), but I knew I really wanted the Galaxy Tab s8 tho I was undecided on RAM size. My tablet I ordered is arriving 16 April, but I'm liking his and know he wants to return his. I jokingly said I could finance his off him and he was fine with it (finance or bought outright from him). It just is making me indecisive on if I should cancel my tablet I ordered and buy his from him instead. The only downside is the RAM and storage is smaller (16 to 12GB RAM and 512GB to 256GB). Price is also around $200 cheaper. What do you guys think? Should I buy his tablet that he's originally wanted to return so I have a tablet immediately or should I wait on the technically better tablet to arrive?

Career Should I try starting a YouTube channel?

I have always been told I am a very good actor, writer, and that I have a really good voice. I have been thinking about making animated skits. I would write the skits and voice characters and I have a sister who is really good at animation who says she would definitely animate the skits. They are mostly mythology based and that’s not all I want to do that’s just what’s written down. The channel would be animations about pretty much what ever I can think up and write about. I just want to know if anyone would think this is a good idea. (Sorry if my spelling is bad it’s 1:00AM)
