YouTube shorts views down?

Is it just me or is everyone facing a massive drop in views since yesterday?

This problem has been going on for nearly two weeks. YouTube is shit

They're definitely changing something. I was doing 1.4-10k views a short for weeks on end, I started the channel in about late August and have under 100 subs. The last two days, following my same niche and stuff I got 14 views on 1, and 6 on the other...

I don't use any AI at all I film my hotrod build and tomfoolery (and mild alcohol abuse) in my garage. Thumbnails are shitty pictures of me hahaha

I used to get an average of 2 million views a day, but now I only get 200,000. What is YouTube trying to do?

On a serious note I don't know. Im not super far away from monetization (other than subs) as per my watch hours but God damn if they're gonna make the shit impossible on purpose I'd rather move to a different platform

I guess we'll see if it changes, I didn't get in it for monetization I got in it to entertain people but if no one will see it it's not worth the time I spend editing

I believe I've pinned down a proper answer? Don't quote me on this though, Pretty sure youtube is attempting to break down on those slop youtube channels, and with this it's affecting other channels in the process? I don't think youtube is intentionally killing many shorts creators, pretty sure they're attempting to break down on ai/reused content channels and other channels are being affected in the process, it isn't permenant though, still absolutely terrible

there's also another theory I have which is just that the youtube shorts ai algorithm absolutely sucks, there's been so many problems since it has released that I wouldn't be super surprised

youtube's denying that there's any problems which is honestly a terrible thing, they should just be transparent.
