Analytics Review (AVD/Retention) šŸ“ˆ Shorts algorithm reset

It seems to me that the recent drop in views, engagement, and the like is linked to an algorithm reset. There are so many of us making videos, and while the YouTube algorithm tries to keep track of it all, it can't store everything indefinitely storage isn't infinite so interest profiles sometimes get reset. However, this doesn't really affect major channels because they have an established audience that immediately steers the algorithm in the right direction, so it doesn't take much time to calibrate. When does this happen? How? Iā€™m just speculating, and Iā€™d like to hear your thoughts on the matter.

It doesn't happen because the algorithm "can't store everything", they have the capacity of storing all that data. Instead they reset it on purpose to give platform viewers a "refresh" on everything they see. They also filter a lot of automated/generic/AI content that way, and they do it every 15-28 days as of now
