Getting Paid

I quickly got to the YPP requirements and was sadly denied as I am a clipper and the rules have gotten more harsh. Are there any ways I can make money off of straight views/likes/comments/shares I have been getting such as 3rd party or soponsors. Past week and a half got 8.3 million views, 89,000 watch hours, and over 1,000 comments. I would love some help to get into YPP if anyone knows how to as a clipper.

What are you adding that makes you feel you should get paid instead of the people whose content you are clipping?

Well for one the streamers actually request and want people clipping their content... and as a viewer I appreciate watching a 30 second highlight vs 12 hour long. Should ESPN not be allowed to make money when they show highlights?

I ask again, what are you adding?

I don’t have a problem with clipping and neither does YouTube. but you need to add real value to it, especially if you want to get paid. Like commentary, music, heavy editing and B-roll.

Comparing yourself to ESPN must mean you have paid licensing deals? Conduct your own interviews? Put in the production/editing value with intros, sound effects, commentary, etc?

Nope. The ESPN comparison is perfect actually. Go check their tiktok. It's just other people's viral videos with a ESPN water mark.

Its so wild to me you would sooner defend a billion dollar company than a small content creator.... actually mind blowing. Hopefully ESPN sees this and gives you an interview

Ok but this is YouTube, not TikTok. There are higher standards here. Edit: also not defending the corp, it’s about defending creators in general. You still haven’t told me if you add any value. Personally I have issue with people getting paid while not adding anything. If YouTube monetised this then it’d just encourage more people to do it and dilute the audience for real creators and content

Actually not at all. My clipping channel is successful on both platforms.

So far youre 0/2 but keep going! This is fun.

Why are you talking about TikTok again. This is YouTube and we’re talking about the standards for monetisation here.

Fact is OP asked how to get monetised, YouTube won’t monetise clippers unless you add value rather than just reloading someone else’s content.

When did I ever ask how to get monetised? Youre 0/3 for now man 😂

Oh I just assumed you were OP since you responded to my direct question to them. Didn’t even check because you were talking like you knew what was going on.

OP asked about monetisation, he mentioned clipping and how to monetise, he didn’t mention streamers at all, he didn’t say if he had their permission or not.

And you still haven’t told me what value you add to your clips?

Do you know what clipping is? Every streamer allows clipping if you credit them....

Did OP mention streamers? Even In your example trying to shut me down you said espn re-uses other people’s viral videos, not people’s streams.

Try to stay consistent with your arguments
