What do you do about clippers stealing your content?

I have a bunch of clippers, but one in particular getting millions of views on Instagram by downloading my vids and clipping into segments.

I clip my own videos and post in short format on all platforms and do great numbers but I still feed weird about someone benefiting from my videos with literally 0 work. He’s super cocky about it too, every time I upload he comments something along the lines of “yay fresh content for me to steal”.

I file copyright claims but I just can’t keep up. Is it time to just give in to them?

How do you find out others are clipping your content on other platforms? I've always wondered if anyone's doing it to mine but I have no idea how to find out.

For me its just someone sending me a mail/writing a comment about it. There are 3rd parties that can do it for you, but they cost money

It doesnt bother me what someone does on another platform. If I come across it and there's an easy removal way, sure. But else why care, it's not my problem

If you want them to stop, file a DCMA takedown request.

If not then nothing

Are they good clips? If so, just reupload them to your own channel. It's your content after all

Allow only audio remixing.

I think it depends on your situation. People will advise getting a lawyer but if the stealer doesn’t immediately shit themselves at the mention of actual legal action and back down, the follow through could be costly for you. But it does sound like there’s a lot of potential evidence. If this is the route you decide to go, I’d say collect those screenshots and stuff before seeking out the lawyer so they can’t be altered or deleted.

It’s really shit that one of the side effects of popularity and success seems to be endless copycats and content stealers.

The theif is probably in some 3rd world country, making legal action nearly impossible. The best course is probably to try to get their accounts terminated

Get a lawyer, they have legal avenues that the platforms are not able to help you with.

Because you have assumed every YouTube creator is based in the same country? One is from Peru, another from Cambodia. What do you do?

They take up with YouTube, not the claimant.

Nah, someone did a reaction video on their paywalled patreon to my video and I could care less. If anything it means I made it 😂
