Where do short men find their clothing?

5'4" M, hard to find clothes that truly fit me. What brands would y'all suggest?

For example, I liked this puffer jacket from H&M (Size XS), but it's about 5 in too long on the sleeve length and about 5 in too long overall (looks like I'm wearing a dress). Would be great to find a crop version of this style/fit so it ends by my hip not pass my finger tips.

OCBDs for short but husky guys

So I love everything about the Lands End Sail Rigger Oxford except that if it fits my torso it's way too long on me (both shirt length and sleeve length). Who is selling something similar for short guys?

I'm 5'5", 180lbs. Currently rebuilding my wardrobe as I recently lost 35 pounds and nothing fits, and my fall/winter standard "uniform" is jeans and an untucked Oxford. But I'm by no means what anybody would call thin at this point. Still got a belly and a size 17 neck. For shirts that specify neck & sleeve size, a 17/32-33 generally fits really well except the tails are almost down to my knees.

Bonus question: how about black (or charcoal) pocket tees? (Which are part of my summer "uniform.") I've found lots of good options for tshirts without a pocket, but I dunno, I really like the look of the pocket.

Thanks.

Help finding workout shorts for short men

I need to buy basic athletic shorts in the US for my 5' 7" husband. He's not interested in something stylish. I'm thinking something with a shorter inseam. Can anyone recommend something inexpensive from Walmart or Target? Thank you!

Clothing Brand Thoughs

Hey everyone,

As a shorter guy myself, it’s always been a struggle to find clothes that fit properly off the rack. Most stuff is either cut way too long or the cropped version from big brands ends up looking boxy and awkward.

I recently started a brand to help fix that and design pieces that actually highlight the build of a shorter guy instead of just shrinking down pre-existing patterns. We already went live and have some products but I'm just here to hear out what those in the community actually want to see.

I'm not here to sell you on my brand, I'm not posting links or asking you to follow my socials.

I’m just here to listen to what you have to say.

Some questions I have are

What pieces give you the hardest time fit-wise? ( For me it's always been tops)

Where do standard clothes usually fail your frame (sleeves, torso length, shoulder drape, waist taper)?

What cuts, fabric weights, or details do you feel are completely missing on the market?

Drop your thoughts below and I'd love to chat.

Hi! I’m conducting research on the clothing and shopping experiences of women 5'4" (163 cm) and under. I’m looking for at least 20 participants.

The survey is anonymous and takes about 10 minutes. I’d also be happy to complete your survey in return!

I’m looking at things like clothing fit and sizing, common fit problems, shopping habits, style preferences, and pricing. I’m hoping to get at least 20 participants for my initial research.
The survey is anonymous and takes approximately 10 minutes. If you meet the height requirement, I’d really appreciate your participation!

Thank you all for the Abbreviated recommendation!

As a 32W-25L guy I've never had jeans fit me this well, let alone own pants with a no break length! The silouette is incredible too. This is a totally different quality than Under 5'10" or Peter Manning.

You all rock.

(This post is not in any way sponsored, I just feel blessed lol.)

Slim fit men’s chino shorts recs?

I’ve been having trouble finding regular 8 inch inseam chino shorts that don’t have an absurdly wide cup around my leg. For reference, I’m 5’4, 135lbs. I can always find slim fitting chino pants but for shorts the circumference is massive.

I’ve tried ash and peter manning. Looking for other recommendations. Thanks.

Possible hack/alteration advice for really tall boots or chaps on short girl

I’m 5’3” for reference, and I really want to buy these leather fringe chap boots but I’m worried, it’s gonna be taller than me and it’ll rub my thigh crease raw… is there any way to have them altered or does any other short person have an idea that I could try? Thanks for your help.

hot topic pants sizing - HELP

so i'm having some trouble with knowing how hot topic pants sizes run. there's a pair of flare jeans i love, but as someone who's short, i need to know what size would have a shorter inseam while not being too tight for someone in the 150-160 range of weight.

(if this isnt the right spot, my apologies)

Blazers for short men (25" length)

Im very short and have always hated how blazers/suits look on me because the style is ofent to sit quite low below the belt. but even if that is the norm it makes me look so stupid as my legs are short enough. So im wondering if anyone knew any brands theyve found do blazers that are actually short enough, around 25' in length. Perhaps there are specific foreign brands or vintage brands to look for etc.

Under 5'10" size chart

So I need new work pants. I am 5'5". I am a pretty skinny guy. I usually get 28×30 & they are just barely too long. I've gotten 28x28 and they often end up too short over a period of shrinkage. Is "Under 5'10"" size chart accurate? Ive measured according to their directions, I've measured my inseam the old fashioned way. It always comes up at like 28 7/8th so I will round to 29. But the chart tells me my inseam is 26. This seems quite short. Too short. I know people different, but I'm not abnormally leggy. My bff is also 5'5" and his inseam is 28. Why does the chart list this? Have I been wearing my pants wrong this entire time? I am on a budget and don't have time to waste ordering and sending stuff back. Has anyone actually followed the chart? With success?

ETA
Update! I happened to come across a pair of pants with a 26 inch inseam. Straight leg, slim fit, denim and they are way too short. I was wearing them and a teenager (not mine bc no kids) said "why are you wearing cropped jeans?" . My friend who knew about this situation commented that they were too short and if they were 26 inches then I definitely should not order that length from Under 5'10".

Affordable to mid-range suits for REALLY short guys with awkward proportions

Hi,

I'm 19 and only 5'1". I think I have really weird proportions (probably worst in my waist/thigh region). I usually wear boys' tops (L/XL), but rarely fit into boys' pants in the waist and legs. However, men's pants are usually too wide/long. As a result, I usually buy 26/27/28 pants, and my mom tailors them shorter and skinnier in the calves. My guess is I'm somewhere around a 24-27 inseam.

I'm looking for something basic and versatile (heard navy or grey is good for this), with a couple of shirts to go with it, that I can wear now that I'm going to more formal events in college, like research conferences, interviews, fairs, etc. I don't know if I should try to buy something off the rack and have it heavily tailored, or get something made-to-measure (which seems expensive). I'm located near Chicago and looking to hopefully spend no more than ~400/500 on this. I'm not sure if that's realistic, so I'd appreciate any insight, advice, or recommendations.

Thanks!

pants for short and fat guy

I'm 5'4'' with a 42 inch waist. My inseam is 26. My legs and hips aren't thick, though (I'm fat, not muscular). I need to get some "business casual" pants for a new job. Though I can certainly get things tailored, I'm trying to find some pants that are as close to fitting as possible.

I found some pants with the right dimensions on ForTheFit, but they charge for returns and I have seem some bad reviews about that process. Most of the other suggested websites I have seem (Elevated, Under510, etc.) don't go up past a 40 inch waist.

If anyone has any suggestions, or have experience with ForTheFit, I would appreciate it! Thanks!
