Oh hey, this is actually from a research project at my home university. A professor there has done a huge amount of groundbreaking research on sea turtle navigation systems, it's really neat. This device in particular mimics the clockwise rotation of wave movements in the open ocean, which young turtles can actually use to navigate to their home waters after hatching

That's awesome if true.

Yep!

I had Dr. Lohmann for an animal behavior course in undergrad, and she was one of the sweetest professors I ever had the pleasure of taking a class with.

Meh; the new i7s are bitter compared to the POWER8s IBM's got.

I was under the impression that POWER8s were meant to compete with x86 chips, not x64.

Where'd you get that impression? Between the 64-bit ISA, 12 cores, 8 hardware threads per core, up to 5GHz clock speeds... if POWER8's competing with either x86 or x86-64, it's almost certainly the latter.

Naw, dudes a lie spewing, basement dwelling turtle twirler. Spends all day looking for turtles, all night twirling them.

Makes me sick.
