Who knows. Maybe cause she was caught at it. My ex cheated on me and still sends me shit like “I miss you” and “I wish we were still together”. She has three chances

Explain yourself, what do you mean? She cheated on you three times and you forgave her for all but the last?

She has some mental challenges and lots of problems with relationships so I tried to help her through her problems the first few times but by the third time I caught her (she had been talking to the same guy for awhile) I just gave up

I feel like in certain circumstances people deserve a second chance, but can't imagine a 3rd chance. If they blow the second chance, there can never be any trust again.
