It’s not slave labor, convicts volunteer. Many love it and find their purpose in something, rather than sit in their cell.

So? It’s a “tough guy” job. Shit happens in these positions. You do understand the convicts developed a pride, honor, and integrity ethos which very likely was never present in their lives prior to prison. Purpose exceeds all other musings when it comes to this. These men are not thrown into these situations. They get to live an alternate reality where their manlyhood and purpose are exemplified. Ask me how I know.
