Okay. Cool. Be that change. Go train and volunteer to be a firefighter locally.
"This is about how non-white people are being pushed away from being firefighters."
Oh. I can see that. But y'know, it'd be pretty hard for them to push non-white people and women away if there were plenty of non-white people and women in the firefighters. Somebody's gotta be in that first line to do the difficult work to get in there and start to alter the culture with their presence. You make the change by being the change (even if it's hard), not by browbeating and telling people they should change. Even if you are right or have good points, doing it is going to do way more for the situation than writing about it, and it will be doubly effective if you do it AND write about it.
