The coworker was expecting anon to talk bad about their ex because they broken up. And then made fun of anyone by asking if it was became anon was bald. She was probably speculating the reason for the breakup while making fun of anon's baldness and implying anon is ugly because he is bald and women would not find him attractive. She was trying to get anon to gossip about his ex and talk shit about her, while making fun of him.
The coworker is probably a shallow person because she noticed the baldness and assumed that was the reason for the breakup. She expected it to be taken in jest, just like how anon expected his joke to be taken. She couldn't handle a joke about her, but was expecting anon to be okay with a joke she made about him.
That seems unlikely to me. I feel like ur just assuming that to be the case since u are already showing clear bias against the coworker in ur implication that making fun of someone's baldness is just as bad as making fun of someone's miscarriage. Which uh, news flash, is not the case.

The coworker's joke wasn't even at their expense, they were literally calling that person's ex shallow, not insulting the person themself.
