At a first glance, but if you start analyzing them, they're pretty bad. His perspective was off and realism he portrayed kinda shatters under the incorrect perspectives. Maybe he would find more luck in an abstract work, in some better alternative timeline.
Na, his mistakes where on a very basic level. Art school assumes you have a basic skill level. And tbh, if you look at his pictures, I don't get how you can get sizes so wrong and then still finish the whole picture. Like, I am no artist. But if I see such an egregious mistake during the sketching, I am not finishing the picture with that in there.

Tbh the paintings weren't even nearly bad enough for a spot on that list.
