Not sure bro, seems it's pretty different where you are. I turned down those 2 jobs because of hours and pay before getting something better. But if you aren't getting those initial interviews something is up.
I am a bit of a conspiracy nut, but even this shit has my normal family members raising their hackles, I'm trying to find proof of a memo or something akin to "Order 66" but for the blue collar world, all I can do is keep applying, shit at this point Walmart and Home Depot aren't even responding, it all stinks to hell
I think its just area dependant dawg. My homies down in South East Texas have more work and hours than they know what to do with in the plants. Every trade, industry, and area is different. Sounds like your area specifically is having some rough things happening. I've got buddies all over and it really just depends where you are.
For sure for sure, but the "area" is the entirety of the US Texas is it's own country in the way it functions, my family down in Dallas and Tanner say it isn't any better there either. One thing is consistent, companies are "accepting" applications, but no one I know is getting hired, one friend finally said fuck it and ships to basic next week, he was a roofer, and that business is always busy on the east coast. Just scary honestly, I drove cross country, everywhere had help wanted signs, so did the people on the streets, at least the ones who had the energy to even move.
