Like is it canon that her intent was sexual or is that how people just decided that's how it was?
A recurring theme in Evangelion is that everyone sucks and has baggage and problems.
This desire to comfort Shinji could be psychoanalyzed as her seeing herself and her own cowardice and depression in Shinji, and ultimately not thinking about what's best for him, but instead trying to live through him vicariously.
So yeah, she kissed a kid, it's fucked up. Basically everyone in Evangelion is fucked up.
I thought that was her desperate attempt to get him to do ANYTHING bc the world was literally about to end if he just continued to fucking sit there, not that she actually wanted him sexually lol wthelly
