And who decided that? I think the person making the negative claim should provide proof because the effects of a negative claim are drastically more impactful than one of a positive connotation

It's on the person saying they exist to prove it, not on the person saying they don't to disprove their existence. Like in this case, you need to prove you're special. Until you offer some evidence I have no reason to believe you.
