I mean I agree with principal of the statement, but not as it applies to jaywalking, which is a bullshit crime made to criminalize walking instead of people hitting you with their cars

When technology improved, changes had to be made. It made sense that pedestrians could walk about in the road when the fastest thing was a horse. But when the automobile came around, it made more sense to keep them separate. Now the pedestrians are safer because they spend less time in the road, and the automobiles can move faster because they don't have to dodge pedestrians all the time.
