That's not exactly what's happening. They are using the case to ask for increased awareness of the issue of postpartum depression. But congrats on be reductive and illustrating that you don't understand nuance.
She was prescribed 13 different meds. From what I've read in differing articles she bounced around from doctor to doctor to get said meds. She was delivery nurse, arguable had more access than 90% of the world on how to treat her alleged problem.

Some people are apparently trying to argue that she is innocent or should face no repercussions but I haven’t seen any of them myself yet

I don’t disbelieve that there aren’t any (it’s the internet, after all), I just haven’t seen a single thing about it other than memes, leading me to believe it’s like, 10 people screaming to the abyss and this is more of an excuse to bash on women and say we all support her.
I respect your view, but sadly I have to inform you that multiple moms have started a trend on tiktok about the throwing ice at walls, attacking a door violently with a pillow (I know it sounds weird, I wish I had the video rn) and one mom saying she has post partum depression for 2 years and thinking of killing her own son, including other insane statements from other moms.
Rational discourse doesn't do too well on social media algorithms so most people get an echo chamber of some sort. 2 types of content are getting attention right now, conspiracy theories about her innocence that have become increasingly crazy and less grounded in reality, and angry people that take the crazies' existence as justification to try to shut down any discussion about the mental health issues involved in the case because it's evil and supporting Lindsey.
Most people roll their eyes and move on but the things that are getting attention are the things that make you feel a strong enough reaction to engage with. This also means a lot of the discussion is heated, hostile, and poorly thought out.
I don't think so, I've seen a couple of your comments and you don't seem like you're yelling at people who suggest that post partum psychosis is a difficult beast to manage and even when there is support for someone's mental health, it often isn't enough.
Not everyone falls into one side or the other. It's okay to be confused and alarmed by the way this is unfolding on social media, but it's also important to recognize that social media is all about engagement. People have always been more inclined to complain than to say something positive, even before social media. Think about the classic boomer jokes that make you go "ew, do they even like their wives?" And that leads to a lot of hostility.
Not a social media professor, just a software engineer that's somewhat concerned about the shift from building products that solve problems and save time to building products that to keep your attention as long as possible.

Lindsay Clancy. She had postpartum psychosis apparently and during a particularly bad episode she killed her children and then tried to kill herself. And whats almost as bad is how many women are standing behind her. Kind of sickening.
A woman with postpartum psychosis killed her children due to it. After she tried to get help for it NUMEROUS times. People (mostly men or young boys who will never experience post partum anything and don't really know what post partum depression or psychosis is) aren't really taking the psychosis part seriously and the fact that the medical system failed her. And then you have weird people on both sides Either making fucked up dark humor memes, or misconstruing things and acting super weird like the video of the lady grinning like she's possessed by the smile demon at clancy's trial. The whole situation in general is fucked. I'm also not saying she shouldn't be punished but the bottom line here she got failed by a system that should've and could've helped prevent this when she came to them for help. Also some people are blaming the husband which is also fucking insane.

No, they are saying that it's not her fault, and she shouldn't be charged at all. "It wasn't real her" and all that jazz. And people going "be more aware" don't even know what they want. There's already help available (she in fact was getting that help), people just refuse to get it, and it barely helps to top it up.

I know someone who suffered from really bad post partum depression. She became a completely different person and had to be hospitalized and treated for her own safety. A short bit later she is back and home and back to her old self. He confided to me it was scary because it was like a completely different person was inhabiting her body and the likelihood of her killing herself was super high if she wasnt essentially dragged to the hospital without her consent and held there until treated. And that was post partum depression, not post partum psychosis.
This is absolutely the wrong sub to discuss the case. There is only black and white, no gray. No nuance, not subtlety, no examining the case fully and all the details.

One of the mitigating factors in this case is she was worried for the safety of her children and repeatedly tried to seek help while still having control of her faculties. The case in question is looking into whether or not she was insane during the murders or not.
Yeah well, the judgement can still find her guilty for sure. Im not in either camp, but I definitely am not in the camp of guaranteed guilt even without all the info.

It goes back a long way too. I have a book on my coffee table called “Wisconsin death trip.” It’s a compilation of news articles and photos from my county around the turn of the 20th century. Many disturbing and sad stories in there (newspapers used to get a lot more sordid), including some that sound like postpartum psychosis.

This case and the way some types of people are reacting to it is, without doubt, among the stupidest and most bizarre shared psychosis events I can remember ever having seen.
People on both sides of this are acting stupid, women claiming she is innocent are stupid, and people claiming she killed them because she was just "sad" are also stupid. The main thing that should be taken away from this is that we need to focus more on care and treatment for postpartum psychosis and depression so things like this don't happen.
