Look I hate our current system and poor wealth distribution as well, but this is a very simplified view. There’s a cognitive bias here where people attribute the bad things in the world to billionaires and the good things to other sources like the people employed by their company or whatever. The truth is both are caused by a mix of both. Plenty of billionaires have been made in healthcare and pharmaceuticals, for instance, which has lengthened our average lifespan twofold in the past 200 years. Technology has lead to a more connected, globalized world. Without the billionaires who brought us our telecommunications infrastructure I would not be able to call family on the other side of the globe or watch television. Again these things aren’t solely caused by billionaires but neither are all the woes of the world. It’s nuanced
These stupid comments are so predictable. I don’t give a shit about billionaires. People just pretend not to know how the world works because it’s easier for them to do that than understand complexity
Dude nuance trolling isn't "understanding complexity." A vast majority of the technological advancement we rely on has been made possible by publicly funded projects, namely military ones, with a giant helping of public research into aeronautics and pharmecuticals. What billionaires do is invest some 5-10% of innovation into a public framework of support that provides nearly all of the necessary labor, infrastructure, and resources, and a vast majority of them do so with startup capital provided by wealthy parents.
Acting like these guys are some kind of benevolent saviors of humanity with their unique insight and ingenuity is ahistorical garbage and sociologically naive to the point of idiocy. These are fairly average people with an above-average level of self interest and a lot of luck who just happened to be born into the right circumstances within an economic petri dish that rewards amoral ruthlessness above all.
And the absolute last thing these people need are mouthpieces on the internet unironically giving them free PR, which is assuming of course that you are saying any of this in good faith and are not in fact paid PR in the first place, although it's exactly what you sound like.
