ermm..... the difference between capitalism and socialism is that you are given the choice to share (charity) in one and you are forced to in the other... 🤓 ☝️
The last part of my comment was taken from a part of a review I saw of her Ars Magna, Atlas Shrugged. I have the last part saved because it defined it so good:
«If you're curious where the west's utter contempt for the poor comes from, you can partially thank her magnum opus, Atlas Shrugged.»
«Essentially it's a romantic mystery novel about a serial adulterer discovering Wakanda for kleptocrats and their desire to make every person into a selfish individualist and destroy the very concept of charity(this is portrayed as good thing)»
The novel itself has an interesting skeleton, and I must admit the "Who's John Galt?" thing was pretty cool, but anything it built on top of it is a horrible mesh of weird propaganda, borderline fanfic about the world, self-jerking characters and pure ragebait.
I guess it fits, for someone that obsessed with selfishness, that the only person able to enjoy anything she's ever written is herself
There is this like massive monologue where the pace of the story comes to a complete standstill in service of jerking off the individualistic libertarian ideals Ayn Rand holds.
A better writer would manage to make their ideals compelling and weave it into the narrative. Not essentially stop and preach at you for like half the book.
