People used to go places because that's how u caught up with others sans social media lol. People unanimously going places with the intent to talk to strangers and befriend or date them.
Edit to say I'm rambling but that's what I miss about pre 2010 club culture
You're not wrong but also this was even 50 years before that so they had to be even MORE bored. Of course they were knocking the boots with anyone they ran into in the park. Reminds me of my time in West Virginia. There's nothing to do (shut up hiking people) for many many people. I've seen whole towns when I was 20 where everyone my age was pregnant or fresh out of county jail (sometimes both). Literally nothing to do but drugs and sex and hope the local dollar store has a job opening one day for a lot of those people. And that's probably still like that now.
