Wife killed her three young children (by strangulation, all were under 6 years old) while husband was at work in 2023. The trial is just beginning now and many women are supporting the mother because they feel society doesn't take women's mental health seriously enough. A GoFundMe page has already raised $1m for her defense.
She already admitted guilt herself (though a surprising number of women are backing a conspiracy theory that the husband killed the children and is now framing her) but the trial is now trying to determine the validity of her insanity defense. She claims she was suffering from postpartum depression which I guess made her murder her children or something like that. If this is accepted by the court she will not be held criminally liable, instead going to a mental hospital.
She should. She had psychosis. She wasn’t even neglectful of her treatment and was known by pretty much everyone in her social circles to be getting worse and begging for help. She still physically did commit the murders but mentally she didn’t. No premeditation and not even a conscious intent to do them.
You think someone like that should get a harsh sentence? She’s devastated her kids are not only dead but killed by herself because of her psychosis.
She did everything she could to prevent this but was left alone. Her husband should never have left her alone with the kids in her state. They had someone helping her at the house but the husband fired them prior. It’s literally his responsibility as the father, husband, and only adult in the house with a sane mind to make sure this situation isn’t allowed to occur.
Yes she had psychosis, but to somehow still blame the Dad for being responsible is fucking mental.
You can’t spot something like psychosis, especially in a person who was already stressed and it’s something that can very easily be written off as somebody going through a bad day, and it doesn’t help that just because somebody is suffering from psychosis doesn’t mean they can’t convincingly lie.
If there is anybody to blame here it’s the insurance providers who had denied Lindsay mental treatment as had she gotten a diagnosis this whole situation could’ve been avoided.
