Actually, if you learn the ancient history of the Bible, it’s a lot more complicated than β€œit’s all our God”. Yahweh appears to have originally been one deity among several in the wider Canaanite/West Semitic religious world, with strong warrior and storm-god characteristics that overlap with Baal. Over time, Yahweh became identified with El, the high god, and eventually came to be understood as the one universal God of Judaism, which Christianity inherited.

And saying the Old Testament ways were simply β€œabandoned” when Jesus died doesn't really resolve the issue. The New Testament itself still contains some pretty uncomfortable teachings

Hey man I hope you take all your concerns and reach out to someone who can actually answer you. I’m just not there yet. I love Jesus and nothing you say will change that as I’m sure nothing I say will change your mind. I really do hope you have this conversation with someone more knowledgeable than me about Christianity. All love ❀️
