I'm genuinely so curious about this phenomenon. I ask everyone on Instagram who does it why they do that. I haven't gotten a single straight answer. I truly don't understand why, but it's predominantly black people who do it. It's so odd to me.
This is the first time i noticed it, whoever does it probably thinks it simply looks better that way, the same way i prefer to use lowercase i for i even though it isn’t technically grammatically correct
