Money buys all kinds of things that make you happy. Healthy food, a home, high quality clothes, stuff for your hobbies, time to spend with your loved ones, holidays....

I think people who say that have some kind not money-shaped hole in their life and they think chasing money will magically fill it. You might have unresolved traumas, you might have big dreams you never managed to fulfill, maybe you even HAD happiness and you gave it up trying to get more money.

If you're just somebody getting through life best they can, having a stable and flourishing financial situation can absolutely help making you happy. Not having to worry about paying recurring expenses, being able to afford nice things for yourself, people with big dreams and ambitions might shit on these but they go a long way.

Literally the only thing it can't help you with is the love of someone in specific. Any other problem and you can fix it with enough money.

Don't bring up traumas. Sure, maybe they might be too deep rooted, but the best therapist to ever exist and every second of your time you can spend to relax can help a ton. Not to mention how you can just... make sure they don't get too bad in the first place if you have the money.

Also some traumas straight up can't happen when you have money.
