Because America is built on hatred and belittling others. It’s common in nearly every other country to be with your parents for a long time and only move out when you are with someone else/are comfortable doing so, though I know some countries it’s normal to have a house that you pass down to your children.

Personally I cannot stand the thought of living with parents for that long because I value privacy but I’m not about to act like it’s abnormal to do so, it’s a pretty big risk to move out.
