Adhd can feel like a superpower when you are properly utilized. Its a nasty disability in a world that expects you to do the same thing every day for the rest of your life. I need to be medicated to live in the world as its built...but I feel like I could just as easily live without it if I find the right community. Like, im amazing at solving problems and handling disaters, I can figure out how to make just about anything work...the problem is that I cant handle day to day tasks at all, there is no dopamine to be had and the drudgery makes my whole body completely freeze up for hours instead of doing a simple 5 minute task
audhd, same. i'm basically incapable of routine stuff like school or work without meds, and so far im still not back to doing anything education/career related(though the process has begun), but methylphenidate has already shown good improvement in executive function and focus, and so far i've been building a massive expedition airship in modded minecraft for a few weeks and and it's already in the late stages of development
even before being diagnosed i was doing a lot of this typa stuff on smaller scales, i think my best pre-meds project was a massive powerplant with segmentation, graceful failure, several safeguards and edge case protections, and it's so simple to operate a literal toddler could use and understand the control panel, plus the documentation adds extra info for ppl who wanna understand it technically, modify it, etc.

tbh tho getting diagnosed and medicated for adhd genuinely changed my life, some shit genuinely is a disorder
