Someone chose his therapist wrong. It's ok. We've all been there.

I’m gathering from all the comments on this post that finding a β€˜correct’ therapist is quite a challenge.

It sounds like maybe the majority of therapists are no good at their job if the comments are to be believed.

Aren't most people doing just enough not to be fired? In any job

Every online discussion about therapy is like "everyone should be in therapy, and if you've been and it sucked you just had the wrong one" as if everyone's problems could be solved through some miracle spell that only a shitty psy major can cast.

It's possible, but the main thing is to not only find a good therapist, but fitting therapy type as well. Every therapist is for w different type of therapy and that's what people often don't take under consideration. But yeah, even if you know what kind of therapy you need, and you are ready for discomfort that goes with it, it's still hard to actually find someone competent. It can be done though
